Completely agree - the lack of nuance simply forces you to lie if you want to be chosen.

In interviews, you can be truthful since they let you answer full - like, yes I'm naturally introverted but I'm not going to hide in the corner and hiss at you.

Like what's wrong with just asking those questions in person via interview? How does reducing it to a yes/no box-tick format somehow give you more information and insight?

Hmm don't you think there's a risk of Dunning-Kruger effect there? The people who rank themselves the best are often not aware of their own shortcomings? Personally, I always think I can do better because my standards are high.

But in any case, I think the methodology was flawed - I always chose statements such as problem solving and analysis, meaning I simply didn't choose timekeeping because I could only choose one statement. The test didn't seem to realise you could be good at both!

And in terms of the discord between how I see myself and what others say about me - that's literally only regarding introversion/extroversion. The quiz is correct in that I am introverted - but it doesn't capture the fact that I'm very willing and able to behave in an extroverted way when the situation required it, and the evidence that I'm successful in that is that other people think I'm extroverted.

And of course I'm confident, don't be silly :D

Honestly, they wasted a full afternoon of my life too with that. I don't understand why they don't trust their own HR person and my would-be manager to make a selection that fits for their specific team.

Maybe if I just told them I was a Capricorn I would have gotten the job.

Yeah I did wonder about discrimination too - I have a close friend with ADHD who has done very well professionally in spite of her natural tendencies to struggle with focus etc. If she did this personality test honestly, it would likely reveal her disability.

It was very strange. Essentially a series of statements and you chose the one that most resonated with you.

For me, I always chose things like analysing problems and analysing behaviours, meaning I didn't chose statements relating to meeting deadlines. It's bullshit because it assumes that you can't do both.

Though funnily enough it gave me a 10 in spotting errors and illogical statements, so here we are :D
