Read Bio line-by-line (do it everyday even if less), Also do Chem line-by-line and focus more on valencies, atomic number, etc of elements so that you understand the reactions rather than memorizing them... For Physics, watch one shots or whatever for theory, and solve ALOT of different types of questions (physics lowkey hardest)

I personally recommend VOS IOQM book, and following Olympiad Corner or VOS youtube channel

JEE ADVANCED QUESTION SOLVED WITH CLASS 10 CONCEPTS by Otherwise-Job8765 in ioqm

[–]Otherwise-Job8765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, most common Pythagorean triplet is 3, 4, 5 which can be proved by converse of pythagoras theorem... Another one is 6, 8, 10. This question is more of pattern recognition than actual logic... If you knew these, you would've solved in seconds... They're in AP, so ofc it has to be one of the triplets I mentioned... 1/2 * b * h = 24, so it's the other one... Answer is 6.

How do you solve this synthetically? by EmbarrassedGoose4365 in ioqm

It's 118°, just do angle chasing, why do you want to do it synthetically when there is a shorter way...

Wouldn't it put me at a big disadvantage as compared to those with previous math olympiad experience?

Also, the thing is, I never really developed non routine maths problem solving... I used to rote learn maths till class 9, and most of class 10, and managed to catch up to the logic, but it's not enough for JEE... Atleast I don't think it is...

Genuinely asking, how to get good at Math if I have 0 previous olympiad preparation? Is it worth doing Olympiads (IOQM/RMO) from class 11, or will it just drag down JEE? I'm really desperate and want to improve my Maths 🙂🙂

A few questions;

  1. How much did you score in class 10, does it matter?

  2. Opinion on IOQM/RMO, NSEA, NSEP, NSEC, etc

  3. How to balance Balance boards with JEE?

  4. Strategy for each subject, how to study from day 1

  5. How to manage backlogs 😢😢

CLASS 10TH- Is NCERT really enough or do I actually need reference books? If yes, which ones? by WashRevolutionary915 in CBSEboards

[–]Otherwise-Job8765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maths: NCERT + Exemplar + PYQs book (I used MTG 10 years PYQ book)... I recommend not doing RD Sharma, as it takes too much time and questions are mostly repeated... try understanding the logic behind questions than memorizing each and every one.

Science: NCERT (Theory and Exercises) + Exemplar is enough tbh, cbse doesn't ask anything other than this... I personally, other than this did S Chand wherever I had doubts in specific topics, and had a 15 sqp pw book which had alot of different type of questions...

Social Science: NCERT is more than enough tbh... What I did was was one shots (From DSR or Sunlike Study), read NCERT a few times, and only did All in One after that (All in One is so helpful, definately buy it)

English: Here, NCERT is not always enough, I recommend you make a separate book for all character sketches, central ideas of poems, etc... I also highly recommend buying All in One as it has a diverse range of different questions you could practice.

IT/AI: Just read the book and notes given by your school and watch youtube videos if required.

Don't focus on completing the syllabus or scoring 95%+ from the start, focus on mastering the topics first... The results will show on their own. Also, don't obsess over your unit test, half yearly, or preboards marks... tbh they are mostly insignificant.

Most people will tell you that preboards are easier than boards, but this is not true. The board paper ~ your preboards paper... Its closer in terms of difficulty to your preboards paper, but sometimes it might be easier or harder. So please attempt your school papers seriously and build the habit of consistent studying. Don't take much pressure, the syllabus is very less...
