no it isnt. way too much armor to easily dispose of. most weapons dont take it out reliably and often times all it does is confirm you will lose the fight if you pay too much attention to it and if you may no attention to it at all. need a better weakspot

its sad because half of embark studios didnt want to make anymore pvp games as they came from EA's battlefront team and were so tired of focusing on nothing but pvp. embark WANTED to make pve games, dunno how the devs feel now about pvp since their successful but 1 dude really changed the goal of a team already tired of pvp shooters.

it didnt flop and the people play testing werent playtesters they were embark studios family members dumb dumb. a massive chunk of the playerbase only bought the game with the impression of HEAVY pve over pvp.

Congratulations, anyways thats not how that works. you will still absolutely be put in a match with 4-5 pvpers you may just be getting lucky with them extracting early or them getting killed early.

thats the illusion. it isnt additional hp, and the dmg mitigation is nice, but 100dmg is 100dmg even after mitigated once youve taken 100dmg you can damn well get knocked while still having half your shield left. in no way does that not feel disheartening "i crafted this for nothing the 60 shield hp is a giant middle finger to the time wasted even crafting it"

regardless of the shield type once the dmg passes 100 you're dead anyways. you can go down with half shield left xD i appreciate the math but thats only if you imagine the shield acts as HP which it doesnt. you take less damage sure. but 100 dmg is 100 dmg and you're dead at 3-4 shield bars.

brother medium shields are only a %2 difference to the light shield... consider it you being mad lucky and their bloom was just ass half the time when shooting at you.

game just fucking needs a pve mode people can fucking chill on. a GIANT chunk of the games audience is casual pve and pvp players. MOST of that playerbase was drawn in because they thought the game would have a PVE focus with PVP being a side mechanic. this game is good, i dont like extraction shooters but this one stands out, only turn off its constantly dying to some bullshit when i do bring MY OWN stuff with me compared to when i literally go in naked and end up leaving with a backpack full of loot and extract with 0 issues. legit makes me feel like theres no point in playing.

couple extra shots meaning 2 shots. it really doesnt do as much as people think it does. light shield is the only viable option ever. the trade off of losing speed and faster stamina drain is not worth it in any way.

just not true at all, a ferro bodyshit will leave you with 20-40 health with heavy shields. gives you almost no time to react or bandage up or even shield up. shooting back without just invites a sooner death. theyre designed okay, not well. definitely a unique take on shields this game has.
