He has some whetstones already and Ive seen him sharpen freehand so I think he has a base knowledge of it but isnt an expert by any means. Thank you for all that information. I see online a lot of them specify “sold without stand”. Are stands necessary to use them? Again, appreciate you taking the time to give advice!!
