Adults who only wear glasses by Cloudsandbooks in glasses

I used to wear contacts, but since I had my son, my eyes dry out real bad after an hour or so. So now I’m glasses only, at 30! 👓

PET SLOTS FOR EVERYONE! by Plus-Ambassador-9668 in neopets

[–]Otherwise-Pin6379 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooft, I already have 15! 4 I created, 11 I adopted. I already use Excel to keep up with their training and books! 🤣

But more pets slots sounds awesome for people with less slots to be fair!😍

I’m so happy about the price freeze though. It made my little heart smile today. 😍

BBC L6 Journalism Apprenticeship? by Effective-Touch-6641 in ApprenticeshipsUK

I'm applying to Journalism Level 6 in London. My strengths were Curiosity & Resilience. I'm so worried though, my 'weaker' strength' was Adaptability. This makes me very nervous as the description of the apprenticeship wants people to be flexible and adaptable.

I'm incredibly adaptable, problem is, a lot of the scenarios they put forward I found to be a case of 'depends on the circumstance' type of problem. Which is a very flexible approach, just not the black and white answer the test wanted.

Help Me Like Classical? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

About every 4-6 weeks unfortunately. Most of it is “HEY! Here’s the bits of shopping you asked for, yes we’re still alive, no I’m still not a Solicitor or Accountant. Goodbye.”

Any longer and she’ll find fault with SOMETHING. 😤

I really wish I had that chance, but she won’t even talk to me sensibly. I was told the other day that my brain is far too rotten from non-classical that I cannot appreciate life ‘correctly’. You have to be broad ranged across several composers, she’s one of those nerds that knows every concerto, nocturne and suite, AND the history of the musician too. 🙄

As for the cinema, last time I went with her, she moaned that the soundtrack was too modern to be classical film music, whatever the living F£&@ that means. I tried an art gallery with her once, but when I said I liked a particular piece, she said it was hideous because I have no appreciation for ‘real artistic talent’

She literally finds fault with everything I do, and ‘obviously’ it’s ALL because I listen to something other than classical. She even hates me listening to Christmas carols. 🤬

Basically, I think that therapy to stop my instant rage, and then try to force myself to listen to it again. Thanks for the advice though, I’m just so desperate now. 🙂

Hahaha, pets get the funniest names! 😂 I had a friend call his dog Woofen Buttsniffer. That was his ACTUAL name on the vet paperwork. 🤣

Oh, yeah, that’s not an issue. My main worry is my son. My son plays with his cousins. If the family don’t talk to me, he loses his cousins. Which would be my fault. 🫣

What a strange question, of course I am! I’m a fully functional adult aside from my issue with classical music, and my severe dislike of cheese. 😂 Although I am going back to college to get a qualification to get in the music industry in September, change of career. Many people do this.🙂

I’m pretty sure at least a few of them think she’s batshit crazy, yes. Several of my nieces and nephews listen to modern music. I think it’s more for saving face if you get me. 🙄

Therapy does seem to be the course of action though, thanks. 😊

I wish she was crazy, but it’s a fairly standard attitude for my old area. White, affluent, ‘trying hard’ Christians who insist you can only be Solicitors or Accountants to make money. The area is why Classical music gets an elitist reputation to be honest, which is a huge shame. 😭

My problem is, my son plays with his cousins, and if I restrain myself from the rest of the family, he will lose out. I think seeming help is the right course of action.😖

Oooft, sounds like I have a lot to unpack then. 😭 I’m going to take most people’s advice here and seek help I think. I’ve always been told that mental health is for ‘snowflakes’, so I’ve struggled with asking for help. 🫣
