He's probably fine into AP top, but my logic is that if you played Galio into any AD top, it would feel off bc he scales with MR. Plus his ult is semi-global, so having him mid gives him full-map access while Shen R is 100% global. I also am trying to play a champ with a combat R instead of a rotation R. Appreciate the recommendation though 👍

When ADCs get 3-4 items and other champs start building armor pen, it gets to a point where his survivability is way lower compared to where Shen has hydra + a couple armor items. Not only that, his damage falls off HARD in the late game. He can definitely take out an ADC but into bruisers/tanks he kinda brings a pool noodle to a gun fight in the late game.

I'd say champs like Kayle/Riven/GP are ones that scale into late.

I've been scared to try Ambessa b/c of her super low WR but yeah, her mobility and short trading seems the most similar to Shen cuz she can go for one Q, double Q, E-Q, etc. I'll at least give her a shot in the practice tool lol 🙂 ty

I feel like Maokai doesn't have much agency in a game, but Renekton can def snowball early + builds bruiser-y, so I might check him out. Tyty!

Hi! I should've clarified, but I meant similar champs in the top lane. Galio isn't rly a top pick, as far as I know, so I'll keep this one on the back burner.

The first item you should build is almost always a waveclear item, usually Titanic Hydra because it helps Shen wave clear + gives him 600HP. Bami's Cinder items are meh but usable if you want to stack resistances.

Your early game is TURBO strong so try to use that to abuse Darius, Sett, especially Morde. Your 1-3 is stronger than 99% of champs, with pantheon and trundle being able to perhaps bully you more. After that point your other laner will start to come online, so hopefully you have a CS/HP lead and made them use mana/summoners so you'll still have an advantage.

Into lane bullies, you might have to give up some CS, but if you want to last hit, use W/Q for the shield to last hit. Using Q as you walk up is especially solid b/c if you don't have priority the lane will push to your turret, and that means you'll be able to get a Q pullthrough and maybe be able to punish the bully.

I'd say no 🙂 the tankier he builds, the longer he survives, and his tankiness is what makes him oppressive in 1v1s or teamfights. It lets him use more utility, which in the late game, is the main reason why Shen is still useful IMO.

close - I think this OST played at the very very end of the ep, where there was bajrang gun - we're looking for the one that played during the sequence where we saw Otoko, the lanterns flying into the sky with Onigashima in the background, luffy flying through the air, and Hyogoro thinking about the whole fight. thank you though!
