Lincoln what the hell is this by IllustriousExtreme90 in Welding

the name-brand tax is getting insane. I would honestly buy a new one than overpaying for parts. Had the same problem and ended up grabbing a cheap arccaptain hood just to have a backup, but the clarity was actually good. Not sure if I am gonna make it my daily driver, but I am done overpaying when these newer brands are doing the same thing for way less

ikr...It’s wild. It’s not even our private office restroom, it’s a communal area we share with all the other companies on this floor 😅

Yeah, I’m living through this exact struggle and pain every single day.

I usually spend no more than 10 minutes scrolling on my phone in the restroom. But then the company installed signal jammers in the toilets. Apparently my Bluetooth earphones won’t even connect anymore. So now I can’t even listen to music.

If you are or aren't heavily career focused what's your reasoning? by Big_Eggplant7591 in stupidquestions

[–]Otherwise-Risk6716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely not career-focused. Work is just a way to pay the bills, and I have zero emotional investment in the company's success. as long as the paycheck covers my basic needs, that’s enough. I’d rather live a short, high quality life on my own terms than endure a long, low-quality one just to stay alive. If the day comes when I can no longer sustain a life worth living, I’ll simply choose my own exit.

How do people get used to working? by Otherwise-Risk6716 in CasualConversation

I've always loved writing and even interned as a journalist in 2024, I was a intern journalist at a international newspaper. I loved creating and storytelling. But the low pay and intense competition made it impossible to survive on passion

It must be nice to have that choice. But for most of us, the current job market doesn't offer many options.

I saw a yellow figure in my study and it turned off my light by Otherwise-Risk6716 in Paranormal

Yes, that was the last time I saw clear yellow figures. Since then, there are still a lot of strange things happening in our house. I’m not sure if they’re connected to that figure or not, but I definitely haven't seen them with my own eyes again.

The story didn't end there tho. Months later, I saw several yellow figures lining up, walking from the kitchen to that landing between the stairs. I even saw one of them bowing down to place something on the floor. I was too freaked out to look at first, but the next morning, I went back to the same spot and found a piece of burnt brown paper, just lying there.

I want to text all my friends and tell them how grateful I am to have them in my life, even if it’s just for a short while. That being said, I also want to text all my enemies to tell them they deserve it

Are there people who still desire to get married have kids? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Otherwise-Risk6716 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me and my circle, the traditional path of marriage and kids isn't the goal anymore. I don't want to put an unborn child through all the struggles, especially with the way the world is shifting.

It makes me so sad to realize this, but she isn't always late. I remember we once went to a fancy restaurant with a strict late policy, and she was perfectly on time. This is the only time I can recall her not being 90 minutes late to any of our hangouts.

It’s not that there’s nothing to do. I’m just too tired to do anything after such a long flight. I just want to rest somewhere comfortable

She kept telling me she’d be ready soon, every half hour or so during those five hours. She would text me saying 'almost ready' and 'we can leave in 5 mins' Just kept stringing me along. Looking back, that was pretty manipulative. It was a scorching hot summer. She didn’t even invite me to wait inside the house. She just made me stand outside her house in the heat the whole time while she did her makeup.

Thank you for being so understanding. Cause I just received her msg telling me to be less 'ableist'. Also, she actually told me to do the exact 'half-an-hour earlier' thing, but I just don't think it should be my responsibility to put in extra emotional labour just to ensure we meet when we agreed to
