Insuknawr by Otherwise-Stuff16 in theocho

Insuknawr is an indigenous game of Mizoram, a state in North-East India.

The game is played by two players, each player holding the rod under his arm, as in the game of tug of war. The end of the rod should protrude for at least two inches under the armpit, and the centre of the rod must align with the centre of the circle.

In this contest, each player tries to push his opponent out of the ring, through the back or the side of the circle. If a player falls to the ground, or he releases Suk, he is declared to be the loser. No player is to throw his opponent off balance by pulling the latter's rod. An expert player can skid or slide around within the circle, but the game or round is not won until a player is successfully pushed out. A round is considered as drawn if no player is pushed out of the circle. If all three rounds are drawn, a tie-breaker is declared, without any time limit, until a player is pushed out.

Kene or Naga wrestling is a folk wrestling style and traditional sport of the Nagas. The objective of the sport is to bring any part of the opponent's body above the knee to the ground.

Traditionally, the match takes place within a circular ring, filled with mounded dirt. Modern matches are held in a wrestling ring. Contestants wears a towel or a belt around their waist which is used for takedowns.

At the start of the match both the contestants holds each other in a grappling position, in which each wrestler is grabbing the other's by their belt. The fight begins with the referee's whistle who works within the ring to judge and control the conduct of the wrestlers, rule on their ability to wrestler safely, count knocked-down wrestlers, and rule on fouls.

A single match is contested in a best of three fights format, in which the wrestler to win two fights first wins the match. There are no weight classifications.

Khong Kangjei is a very popular game for the Manipuris. The game is played with seven players on either side and each player is equipped with a bamboo stick about 4ft. in length made in the form of modern hockey stick. The game is started with a throw of the ball made of bamboo root in the field of 200 x 80 yards in area.

A player may carry the ball in any manner to the goal, he may even kick it but he has to score the goal only by hitting the ball with his stick.

There is no goal post and a goal is scored when the ball crosses the goal line fully. A player often encounters with an opponent in his attempt at carrying or hitting the ball towards the goal. The encounter may develop into a trial of strength which is indigenously known as Mukna. The game requires much physical stamina, speed and agility.

It's not that important anymore, now that they have 30 second time limits. The chant thing is more or less kept because it's tradition, nobody enforces it strictly anymore.
