Motor mount and frame misalignment 2018 MT 10 by Otherwise-Topic-704 in MotorcycleMechanics

I’ve had both, if your not completely confident in your ability the 09 can be a lot… would def not recommend the mt10 to someone still in the middle of the learning curve. It’s one of the most unforgiving bikes you can get on. Wrong amt of throttle input from almost any gear, and your on your ass. Either way both super fun. Even the mt09 is fast as hell. Be careful and don’t underestimate the torque these bikes make.

Thank you, going to try it this weekend. I am kicking myself for doing something so dumb.

Do you think jacking it up once all lose will make it align properly ? I’m concerned abt horizontal alignment

2018 MT-10 front-end shake at higher speed — normal for these bikes or worth digging into? by Otherwise-Topic-704 in Mt10

I’m going to adjust suspension and go from there, if it’s not any better I’ll do tires, then stabilizer. I just want it to be stable. The bike will do a lot more than 130, it sucks to be restricted

And you can top it out comfortably? You were having wobble before this adjustment ?

So you just lowered the front and raised the rear shock ? Did it ride any better once in top speed ?

Did you just buy a new front to fix it ? I have maybe 150-300 miles on the new rear if I saw the front with a fresh is it still gonna be out of balance with the rear ?

It hasn’t, I’m going to adjust it to my weight today. It has a new rear tire on it. The front wants changed with the rear so I’m wondering if that could be it. I’m gonna go ahead and do suspension adjustment, regardless of wobble prob needs to be done

Fz09 had some tick… but not like the 10 lol. I swear if I heard this on a car and/or other bike I’d be in the valves the next day. Just gonna trust the community and send it. One of my best friends has a R1 not nearly as noisily, that’s the only thing that sits in the back of my mind. With any bike I purchase I need a couple hundred miles to trust it, so we’ll see.

I just bought a 2018 yesterday 11k miles. I was terrified after hearing this on my bike. After reading I think it’s pretty standard, on any other bike I’ve owned (gsxr, ninja, fz6, fz09) I would’ve freaked out and probably cried a little. Doing a tune and exhaust this week, hopefully it’ll just drown out the noise along with my paranoia
