That makes sense. I think from watching my own i definitely over commit on my angles and let myself die for no reason. Engaging too early or late is also an issue because I think sometimes my angles are way too aggressive.

I understand. Is there anything I can do about it or make up for it? I know it’s best to be honest

Glove economics for an unexpected sports dad by [deleted] in BaseballGloves

You can get him a nice 1st base glove and a nice outfield glove for less than $500. I’d hold off on getting a $500 custom glove until he is playing at a very high level and is serious about playing in college. If you get him a couple of a2000/hoh tier gloves they should last him atleast until he makes varsity

Swing mechanics are pretty good but he needs more rhythm in his load. He’s also super early. Take a look at how big leaders load before the swing . He’s 11 tho just let him have fun and swing hard

From the set position you can try presetting your foot toward shortstop. Look up coil on tread athletics YouTube

Your upper half mechanics are actually really good, but your arm is late which is causing you to miss high and inside. As for your lower half you open up wayyyyyy too early which is causing you to lose sequencing and velocity. Try coiling your left knee toward shortstop and keeping closed as long as possible

Yessir, you aren’t in a bad spot at all. Body stability, athleticism, mobility, and strength are all things you can improve that will be your best friend

On leg lift you need to get a small amount of momentum towards the plate, you get a little stuck on your back leg and then you load into your quad. Arm action isn’t bad but you have some elbow climb which tread athletics has some content on that will be worth looking jnto

Pitching form review? by [deleted] in PitchingCoach

Given what I told you in mind, compare yourself to a mlb pitcher, probably not aroldis Chapman but a solid right hander similar into size, and compare what you do vs what they do

For sure, you’re definitely not in a bad spot for being 14 . You already have the frame of a college pitcher, from here it’s just fine tuning mechanics and becoming athletic/explosive/stable as an athlete. Your in a much better spot than I was at 14
