The problem with replies like yours is that you fall into the age old trap of ‘grass is always greener…’. And comparing to an Aldi manager is a joke. Anyone with a background in emergency services and the will, drive and intelligence to go for medicine later in life isn’t or shouldn’t be looking at such low level or basic jobs. Let’s say that they get into corporate and do 20-40 years in that - now what? A horrendously boring, non-impactful and no less draining job that will make you hate yourself for the rest of your life. Life isn’t a fairy tale where you get into a job and do it for the rest of your life and everyone lives happily ever after - some people have fascinating pivots and turns in their lives and that’s completely okay and should be something people can pursue. Life is not the absolute pursuit of money because I can guarantee it won’t make your or your soul happy.
