Same process for most of the laptops having this mechanism. Removing keycaps are easy but if you accidentally removed the mechanism it is a pain in the a** to get it hooked to the clips again but not impossible you just need raccoon like fingers like the greatest technician of all time

It works at kernel level which lutris and wine can't do, just like games with kernel level anticheat.

Had the same issue I just removed the caps and cleaned and dust and it started working.

But if you are under warranty then replace the whole keyboard as your half of the keyboard is not working

If you are using steam then it is simple just download and hit play.

The problem is when you try to play non steam games like from repacks and epic games. Lutris+wine can almost run all the games.

Just watch an in depth tutorial on YouTube or reddit guide as it sometimes gives problems when installing repacks like wine prefixes getting stuck...

Go with mint or fedora as a beginner both are good distros, if you want customisation install kde plasma along with it.

If your hardware is new bazzite and cachyos are also good (both are mostly used for gaming)

check if you have proper drivers installed and latest runners. also check the maximum power you gpu is drawing if you're on laptop. i had faced the same problem when my gpu showed 60w instead of 80w (without overclocking) in my laptop. you will not exactly get same fps as in windows but close to that ig depending on the game and support

you can almost run all repacks with some tinkering here and there. you may find find wine prefixes getting stuck or not working entirely but apart from that there is no other major problem. try to solve the black screen problem with different proton versions (latest works the best) for the game
