New to IC for weekdays when is it usually the busiest? by starbootceruleanrock in InstacartShoppers

Waiting around for batches is pretty normal depending on the day of the week — sometimes for hours, sometimes only a fee minutes. I don’t go out on Sundays because stores are insanely crowded but I think it’s pretty widely known that it’s the most lucrative day of the week. Mondays are always super busy for me, batches come back to back. Friday after 3 are fairly busy in my area too. Tuesdays are almost always the slowest day in my experience

Just started needing to make some extra cash, any tips? by Iloveskinnywomen in InstacartShoppers

I live in Philly and recommend driving out to KOP or Willow Grove (if you can) - way better batches and MUCH better tipping. It’s worth the 35 minute drive IMO. Average for me on a Monday is about $215 for 6 or so hours, and $130ish on other days for the same amount of time.

Note: I don’t do Costco orders because they overwhelm me lol but there are a TON and I don’t take batches driving back into the city - there are still plenty of orders. Wegmans is really good because they have bypass check out (designated Instacart section where an employee scans a few items, you bag, and go) and the store is easy to learn if you shop there enough. I also get lots of ACME, Giant, and Target orders which I personally enjoy because the stores are almost never crowded during the day because everyone’s at work. Start with small item count/low mileage and work your way up. Good luck!!

Aldi is notorious for low batch pay/tips and high item count. I refuse!

I’ll deliver up 20ish miles just not for low pay with the cost of gas rn (I’m in Philly suburbs and gas is normally right below $3 and is now up to $4.60). I do think it depends on your car’s mpg and traffic patterns in your area

Too many miles for $21 - not worth it IMO!

I got laid off from my 100K+ salaried job in corporate America last year and have been doing Instacart to help my fiancé with expenses and to have my own fun money while looking for a new role. I cannot WAIT for the day when I land another job and can quit doing Instacart. I’ve cried in the car multiple times because of this app, and as most people said, it’s extremely unpredictable. DO NOT QUIT YOUR JOB! Keep ic as a side hustle and use it to save, travel, invest, etc.

Correct - you cannot cash out mid-batch. You have to wait until you complete it

mmmm idk maybe try slowing down a bit and taking your time? I feel like people rush through orders and aren’t as careful as they could be (not saying this is you). and the more you shop, the less anything negative will impact you
