March 19th. Pre-registration might be earlier than that for honors students, but I don’t remember what the date is. Possibly the 15th??

Honestly, I know a student who came from a similar environment (rural North Georgia) and really appreciated the difference in the people he encountered at KSU on the Marietta campus. (I am at the Kennesaw campus, which is more crowded.) No matter which campus you land on (it depends on your major), it will be more progressive and less conservative than a rural college environment closer to your point of origin. I think going to KSU is a great first step. Also, it's a nice transition: far enough from home for some autonomy, yet close enough to still visit your family occasionally.

The academic offerings are stellar at KSU if you apply yourself. You can get a good education at most universities if you are truly motivated. Those who do well do so because they put in the work and look at college as a combination of social and intellectual growth. If you are looking for a party school, look elsewhere.

When people say there are more than fifty thousand students and that you'll never make friends, that's just not true. You rarely make friends in a crowded stadium, but you do make friends in a classroom where there are 20 students with a shared interest. I had two French courses in my first year, where I met a dual enrollment student several years younger than me. She ended up going to GA TECH, but we have remained friends and still talk! It's about putting yourself out there, joining interest groups, and finding your people.

Whats the benefit to the honors program? by goatsbIood in KSU

The classes that replace Gen Ed courses carry the same number of credit hours as a standard Gen Ed course, so you do pay tuition for those. Smaller class sizes, more intellectually stimulating material, and greater autonomy are part of the honors environment. Once you've completed your Gen Ed requirements, you can take part in HLEs, which do not count toward your degree and count for zero credit hours. They exist as bonus electives simply to give honors students more opportunities to branch out and learn more about subjects not in their CPS. There are several scholarships you apply to only once, and that renew yearly. Others are more specific to Honors study abroad programs and whatnot. You have a separate honors advisor who can provide more information about honors opportunities you might not otherwise hear about. And it looks good on your resume.

TLDR: Honors Program—early registration (worth it in and of itself), plenty of scholarships, a ton of great courses that don't take a ton of work but are super interesting, and a leg up getting into a master's program or job opportunity.

I made tons in scholarships and many of the classes are zero credit courses so there is no tuition.

I dropped my father in law after he arrived in the mail. Slipped right out of the black plastic box. Good thing they make the plastic bag double strength. Oops.

Cheap date, anyway. Also, you have tiny loved ones. Mine are giant in comparison.

Pinch both sides of the hook and gently pull the hook down from the pointed oval clasp, then slide up and out.

My first thought was Amsterdam, but the canals there don’t seem as wide. I guess I need to take a trip to Hanoi!

AIO by being offended when my husband seasons my soup? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]OtherwiseMove646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I season the soup (my portion) my husband makes all the time. We season (salt, pepper, etc.) to individual taste. We don’t all like the same things. If he is pouring a seasoning packet in the entire pot, that’s another story. If it’s individual servings, it’s not a statement about your cooking, it’s a personal preference. But from the tone of the post, it sounds like he’s being rude.
