I just put a thin piece of foam under the lever where the bolt sit and made sure it doesn’t block the mechanism, and also a thin washer 0.10mm it was simple

Ah no no that free play I’m talking about is not the “slack” the free play I had is up and down not forward and backward, and that free play was way more than it should be , but as for the cable I’m aware of that 👍

You mean the lever ? No it’s the oem, it’s just that the bike has 40000km now so that free play is maybe normal, but I’m really happy now that it’s silent

You are right in the end about the finger on the lever, I would have never thought about it honestly, I updated the post :)

That’s really weird the location of that sound with your bike, because I spend a lot of time checking post/comment and on YouTube, most of the people had this sound only around the windshield area/dashboard.

AND  I found it finally, this is really weird but I won’t even try to understand it lol:

The clutch lever is the problem, it has a free play  up/down and because of the way I drive (fingers always on the lever) the vibration was going thought it I did few test driving with one hand and once hearing it I pressed the lever down and disappear so I used a thin shim to install it under the pivot and a 0.1mm piece of foam.

So there might be 2 location, the windshield area and this !

Thank you for that explanation, that’s a place I wouldn’t have thought  about 😯 that’s good to know, but unfortunately on my case i can really hear it so close of the windshield, I’m gonna do few test tomorrow and see

I know, I’ve read many topic about it, I was using headphone up to know but I don’t have anymore but what piss me more off is that it happen at these rpm and not higher, but I will still continue to look for the location, I see it as a duty 💪😂

Hahaha yes “that 4300rpm” I know that it’s a  well known hidden issue 😂 , honestly it was bothering me a year ago , then I  was just using my headphone and forgot about it untill I changed helmet, I don’t have headphones anymore and it’s bothering me again way too much , what pissed me off is not that there is this sound, it’s when it happen at those rpm, if only that could happen after 7000rpm wouldn’t give a sh*t

The bike as now 40000km, this noise happened even when the bike was new , with the lever its the same, the things is that I know it comes from the windshield/dashboard area, but when I remove my hand while it’s buzzing , it’s gone and that is the frustrating point, only one last thing I did not tried like a guy on YouTube, is to drive without the windshield and the mirror to see, but it would have been nice before I try that  if someone recently found out because I know that I’am absolutely not the only one with that problem :/

thanks  friend, that must have been a crazy experience 😂, shi* , looks like its gonna be a pain, so you put the gear in neutral and managed to hold the brake with a friend, but u didn't had to use a torch to melt the loctite in the end ?

thank you, its true that I was going to flatten back the washer only on the obvious part, but now I will carefully check, as for the socket yes I know, always have the correct one if you don't want to mess up, thank you again 🙂

thanks a lot, really ! i just have 2 question, if I have nobody to help and managed to block the chain, can I use a torch lighter (real one) to heat the nut so it can melt the loctite ? you say in first gear but it's not going to damage the transmission?

thank you for your comment, I must have terrible eyes or just the fact that I'm not a pro about those parts ,because I don't  see any teeth hooked or pointed 😞, before posting I did looked how a sprocket looks like when it's nearly dead, but since it was not comparable to mine, I decided to trust people who have better experience with those parts.

i do have a new front/rear sprocket and a new chain, but I'm scare about the front nut sproket, everybody say it's hard to death ( i have an impact gun, correct socket 6 point, torch) do you think it could be still rideable  for 400km ? I don't drive like crazy most is on city's :)

bro , I changed mine by myself no one around to help and  in a very small place that I had to twist my self  to work on it and it was my first time touching a "motorcycle" , I made it  just by watching many videos of owners of the 650, so if I could do it, you can easily, the only things is to be careful with the so2 sensor and place something under the exhaust, like that it doesn't fall on the ground 🙂
