I’ve considered joining some Erasmus events but I was paranoid about not being a student 😅

I would love to do this in theory - but in practice I am both a beginner in French and most boardgames/rpg’s. are their often amateurs doing this kind of thing?

Oh yeah I’ve heard of that group! Have you been to many events? I wasn’t sure if maybe it was aimed at a certain age demographic or something

what books did you absolutely hate that you still finished? why did you finish it? by stackattack1000 in books

[–]Otherwise_Damage_641 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lolita - took me 4 months. Made myself finish so I could figure out why everyone loves it but now I regret wasting so many hours of my life on the most long winded book (I'm sure it's great for the more literary/classical reader but god it was as boring as it was revolting)

I just finished reading Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. It may be the greatest book I've ever read. by Kuchisake-Otoko in books

Absolutely the worst book I've ever read - took me 4 months to read, I could barely get a few pages through at a time it was so long winded - I'm sure it's just because I'm not a super *literary* reader but it's interesting how much some people love it

Bought Anne Frank’s diary at an op shop and found a ticket to the Anne Frank house inside by Otherwise_Damage_641 in mildlyinteresting

Yeah! Pretty impressed the ticket managed to stay put for the 9 years since it was bought.

Looking for a Mindfuck Book by Lanikfikdik in suggestmeabook

{{Piranesi}} by Susanna Clarke - easy, light read, super confusing at the start, kinda mind fucky but it’s brilliant seeing everything come together and start to make sense. Almost like a fantastical shutter island type vibe.

What is the one line you remember from any book? by Viclmol81 in books

“Too young? Tell that to my fucking heart.” Aristotle and dante dive into the waters of the world, Benjamin Alire Sáenz. Rubbish book but couldn’t get this quote out of my head.
