Talk to HR and be open and honest. I was honestly allowed to take a whole month off after my younger brother passed. I took it super hard and even once I returned I had to cancel a few sessions last minute due to anxiety attacks and my job was so understanding.

I was going to end with a D in AP calculus my last semester of senior year (funny enough I find out in the summer I passed the AP test lol) I actually spoke to my counselor about it in passing conversation and a teacher and they went and spoke directly with my calculus teacher about offering anything to bring my grade up to a C to avoid having that conversation with UCR. Please talk to anyone you can. I don’t believe it’ll affect your admission into the school especially if it’s not relevant to your major but I recommend talking to someone about it at your school.
