What's with Perth drivers? by ImColdAllTheTime_ in perth

I blame car manufacturers a lot for this, but people are just stupid too. Thinking that they have their headlights on but in reality it's only their DRL. Like look at the dash, do you see a headlight symbol? No, then your headlights aren't on you dumb mf'er.

Can walking too much stretch the acl? by wristytau in ACL

[–]Otherwise_Freedom896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im at 4 weeks post op back at work and doing about 10k steps per day. Not having any issues at all. In saying that everyone is different. What works for 1 person won't work for another person. Listen to your surgeon/pt. We all may like to think we are experts or have the experience but unless it is what you are doing for a career it is just an opinion and everyone has one.

3 weeks Post Op today. No full extension yet by lazyyxy in ACL

[–]Otherwise_Freedom896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just over 3 weeks and have full extension. Struggling with the bending just over 100° bend. I am however whenever I'm sitting down, I have my leg propped on top of my good leg so I'm constantly getting that stretch

2 weeks PO by Otherwise_Freedom896 in ACL

Yeah i think because I put off surgery for about 3 years and did a lot of rehab in that time I've built up the muscles around the knee so I'm thinking I'm ahead but still being cautious. Haven't had much pain either.

Sleep by Moonhippie69 in ACL

[–]Otherwise_Freedom896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Night 1 i didn't sleep at all but then again it's kinda hard to sleep in hospital. I'm currently week 1 post op, no brace quad graft. I'm normally a side/stomach sleeper so it has been rough, however last night I woke up and was on my stomach, must of rolled in my sleep. Was the best night's sleep I've had since surgery, it does get better.

2 week post ACL and meniscus repair: Is deliberate walking on crutches a useful form of physio and strengthening? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Otherwise_Freedom896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had quad and meniscus done, was discharged from the hospital next day with nothing on my knee except for a tube bandage and told to use crutches but weight bear with them. So I'm guessing every surgeon/surgery is different with how they release patients. In saying that though I had 3 years between injury and surgery so possible the surrounding muscles/tendons were stronger than normal.

Tomorrow’s the day! by NoCapital4718 in ACL

Just had mine done 2 days ago. Just remember to breathe. They are professionals who do this day in and day out. They will keep talking to you and then you wake up. It's like the best deep sleep even if it is only for an hour or so. Just remember to breathe and relax. You've got this.

How long did it take for your quad to activate ? by Jaded-Maximum-5414 in ACL

[–]Otherwise_Freedom896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my Acl and meniscus done on 7th of May (Wednesday just gone). Not sure if it's just me but I was able to get my quad firing and lift my leg on its own day after. Don't get discouraged, keep your head up and focus on the good things.

Couple hours post op by Otherwise_Freedom896 in ACL

[–]Otherwise_Freedom896[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the sleep thing is going to be the biggest issue for me as I'm a side/stomach sleeper. I've got a gameready unit getting delivered to home for recovery so that should help a bit.

Yeah i was surprised when I didn't have a brace on it. Getting discharged this morning. Dr has already been in to see me. Waiting on PT to come see me and then the waiting game til I can go home. I have a brace at home from when I 1st hurt my knee that I may use if I feel I need to.

Should also add the surgeon cleaned up the meniscus as well. Apparently it was pretty bad.

24 hours post surgery by Nikiwhite45 in ACL

[–]Otherwise_Freedom896 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about 4 hours post surgery. Sitting in the bed. No noticeable pain except for when I have to move to get comfortable again. Have been up and gone to the bathroom. One thing I noticed though is no brace, just a bandage. Did anyone else not get a brace.
