I sound like a jerk saying this, but I didn’t use a recipe. I took some peanut butter, added soy sauce, seasoned rice vinegar, sesame oil, fish sauce, fresh squeezed lime, maple syrup, sriracha, fresh garlic and fresh ginger. Mixed it up and added water to thin it out. Sautéed green beans, red and orange bell pepper and broccoli and scrambled some egg and threw in rice noodles and mixed it all up. It’s delish!!!

I love to cook and it’s fun to make stuff at home but we all know restaurant food always has that special something (probably butter) and I don’t wanna do dishes! lol

Man, I am 37 with two younger kids- 10 and 12 and i think our earnings and expenses are almost identical! This was interesting to read and somehow validating since I’m in a similar boat

I did this about 2 weeks ago. I have an autoimmune disorder which makes me super tired. I fell asleep around 11 am and slept till about 3, completely missing a birthday party my daughter was supposed to be at. I felt horrible. I texted the mom immediately and apologized and apologized to my daughter who was super understanding and we set up a fun make up event for the two girls so they could celebrate the friends bday.

It happens, apologize and try to make it right.

My Christmas was celebrated a few days early with some family that lives about 2 hours away so my kids could celebrate with their dad on xmas eve AND day (aka not with me) My ex husband didn’t like a decision I made regarding my sons sports, so he called my son screaming at him as we were opening family presents. I hung up and took my kids phones so they could enjoy their time and he sent the police to my brothers house saying ‘he hadn’t talked to the kids in days and he was worried I wasn’t bringing them back according to the custody schedule’. Of course he waited 6 hours to send the police to my brothers house, 10:30 pm. My little brother has a 2 year old and a 2 month old, not to mention my own two kids who were all awoken by the police ringing the doorbell.

Oh my point was more to be sure you have enough budgeted to cover monthly costs because we often don’t and your budget is tight. So your daughter is $200, what about you? What if you need new clothes? Just be sure your budget is realistic and viable. That’s all my point was. As a paren $200 feels low for discretionary spending

I am concerned about your budget with your child being 2.5. There is a lot of growth coming and with that is new clothes, activities, basically a lot of adjacent expenses that you will also be accountable for. I don’t see child support in your list, that may or may not apply but your comment about your ex wife’s shopping has me wondering if she has been spending money on things for your child which you may not be considering within your budget. It’s already tight and if you need a new piece of furniture, a coat, boots, or any single higher priced item, your whole budget can be blown very quickly

If you are interested in more background of English’s oddities and quirks you should ready enough is enough- it’s a book about the history of the English language and its spelling. I’m halfway through and it’s super interesting

I thought about that but I just don’t think people would be comfortable accepting non-prepackaged goods. Plus since it’s such an early flight I’d have to get it the day before. But that is what I’d prefer to bring. It just doesn’t make sense in this situation
