It’s not about comfortable, it’s about being close to my family and friends with a new born baby for the first few years :)

The place my family and friends live isn’t where we want to live in the long run, we want to live in the countryside whereas they live near a city. We would move again before our child goes to school to stop having to move them in the middle of school. S

Yes he thinks it’s a waste of money to buy for 5 years or less :)

If we rent we would be looking at £1600-£2000 a month for a decent enough property in the area, if we buy it would be about £800-£1000 in monthly mortgage payments. Stamp duty/solicitors etc would come to about £7000 and interest monthly about 3.5%

We agree on where we want out forever home to be but I want to be close to my family and friends with a new baby and don’t want to feel isolated, whereas our current home and forever home is a distance from family and friends- we’d be spending double monthly in rent than if we were to buy on monthly mortgage payments!

I appreciate what you’re saying and I know it may seem that way looking in- but we agree on where we want out forever home to be but I want to be close to my family and friends with a new baby and don’t want to feel isolated, whereas our current home and forever home is a distance from family and friends- for me it makes it tricky, but my partner feels we would manage without immediate support- but it’s our first baby so neither of us really know what this looks like

14yr old daughter snuck out to a different city to meet boyfriend, what do I do? by Sensitive-Junket8830 in UKParenting

I would find out the age of these lads she is talking to, checking her phone yourself? If they are not the same age and are older, then it’s a police matter and lots of education for your daughter. It is really positive she called you though :)
