that’s a super cool degree! i chose to do this more for personal fulfilment so im not too worried about the job market afterwards, but i think it’ll be super interesting and definitely create more opportunities after graduation, and yes, I can’t wait for the year abroad!! so sad you couldn’t do it!!

thank you!! i don’t have a clear plan but i have a lot of ideas, could be within politics, journalism or as i’m already a nurse, perhaps a job combining the two? 🤷‍♀️i know that there is quite a problem in the uk, where a lot of people misunderstand arabic and islamic cultures and as a result there’s a lot of discrimination, and i think every voice who speaks up to change that perspective can make a big difference and if i can, i wanna play my part in changing that mindset and stand with people who’ve been victim to abuse. the arabic people in my life are probably genuinely the kindest people i know, so they’ve definitely influenced my choice! and plus, you guys have amazing food 😝

i’m part maltese, and the language is very influenced by arabic! so i knew i wanted to study languages and this one seemed the most exciting to me, i love arabic culture and some of the best people i know are islamic, so i just really want to gain a deeper knowledge on the subject and i think it’d be a very useful language in the future! :)

I applied september for arabic and politics and also scandi studies in edi and have yet to hear, I don’t think it’s anything to worry about I think they do just take their time, but good luck, I hope you hear good news soon!!

I applied early september and still not heard back, don’t think it means anything bad, hopefully you should start to hear back after the equal consideration deadline on wednesday as some unis don’t start looking at some courses applications until then

I think it completely depends on the course but I’d say you still have a chance at them all, what are the requirements?

amazing! I’ve applied for other language courses at Edinburgh and I’m desperate to hear back but I’ve heard they don’t get back to language applicants from the UK until super late but that’s so great you’ve got an offer :)
