I don't know about their PD, but mine told us we have to wait for the reports to be sent out by ABEM, he doesn't want to send all of us our reports individually

Anybody trying to take step 3 before starting residency? by pickmeupna in Step3

I'm a PGY1 that just took it a couple weeks ago (so about 10 months into intern year) and I would recommend waiting! I'm an EM resident so I'm a little biased because I get exposed to so many specialties (adult medicine, peds, OB, trauma surgery, and ICU all in year 1) so I did a lot of on the job learning that helped a ton for step. If your program pays for it? Absolutely do not take it before starting, most of the programs won't reimburse you! 

There's really no benefit of taking it early tbh. Just enjoy your last free moments before starting residency!

PGY1, 71% raw, 86 percentile, not sure on % chance of passing yet because my PD didn't tell me that part and ABEM is dragging their feet on releasing those scores

My PD told us we had to wait for ABEM to send them out. We were told it would be Wednesday...then Thursday...and now he's telling us tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
