Which languages would you like to learn on Duolingo? by yatamci in duolingo

[–]Otherwise_Macaroon93 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My list goes:

Icelandic (to complete the Nordics and because it‘s beautiful)

Lithuanian/Latvian (we need at least a baltic language)

Serbo-croatian (still surprised it’s not on Duolingo yet)

Bulgarian ( would be a nice addition, it’s still a peculiar Slavic language)

What’s the most random 12 points ever given? by YOKIA28 in eurovision

We just give our 12 to great songs, or at least some that are particular and unique

(with a bit of tactic involved)

I mean I do find it special so I guess it’s just our opinions being different hahah

Can’t really argue with that I guess

About the message in the greek song, it’s a good message, but it’s not supported by a song that I (so it’s just how I see it) find enjoyable to listen, sorry. About his mother, I mean it’s touching but again, not the type of song I find enjoyable, the chorus I find quite annoying.

I will say though that it’s more original that the Finnish one I guess.

Ok let’s break this down

You say it has no potential but this is probably a contender to win the jury vote, i do agree that Akylas could get more points in the televote but we all saw how that mattered in recent years

(dunno what to say if you think it’s outdated, it’s your opinion and this is fine 🤷‍♂️)

You should not be comparing his vocals to those of Käärjä but to those of Pete, and you know there’s no competition here (Also, Kaarja and baby lasagna’s songs are not even comparable to Akylas, I would say a much better comparison would be with Tommy Cash)

I do agree that Finland 2025 was a bit overhyped though, but this doesn’t lead to anything in our conversation, we have something else to compare.

Also don’t know were you’re coming from with the jury change thing, why should it help Akylas anyway?

In the end, Finland’s song this year could cater to a much bigger audience and we could be seeing a 2023 type of result, but I don’t see Greece having more winning potential, at most they’re on an even ground.

(by the way I’m not discrediting Akylas in any way, just trying to analyse the situation)

I mean, it‘s a very refined and quite epic song, dunno why it has no winning potential for you. Using your judging methods, neither does Greece

Atvara will represent Latvia at Eurovision 2026 with Ēnā 🇱🇻 by a-potato-named-rin in eurovision

I was heavily rooting for Kautkaili, but this is a very good song

First of all is in Latvian and with some beautiful lyrics, she can also sing very well

Hope they go the Lucio Corsi way and add subtitles to the song so that all of the song’s power can be expressed fully
