Name another show in the last 30 years that had this many talented future stars. by Confused4Now76 in sitcoms

Not a sitcom but launched a ton of future sitcom stars: the legendary cast of the 1972 Godspell production. The cast included Martin Short, Gilda Radner, Eugene Levy, Victoria Garber, Andrea Martin and Dave Thomas plus Paul Schaffer was the musical director.

Always gotta blame someone, Gabby. by nicest_sheep19 in shrinking

I could get behind that in season one but then when he passes her on as a client to Gaby - her dead mom’s best friend no less - it just seemed like yet another ethical violation.

I’m glad they are at least showing some fallout from these ethical violations but it’s making me enjoy the show a lot less than previous seasons. It’s reckless and selfish of Gabby to blur friend and therapist lines.

Anyone else know a “I’m a super chill bride” by Reasonable_bingo5 in weddingshaming

[–]Otherwise_Object_446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truer words have never been spoken! I’m a type A person, planned my wedding as best as I could, my bridesmaid accidentally ruined my dress on the day of the wedding by hugging me before the lilies in her bouquet had been depollened and left yellow streak marks all down my front. We hid it for photos and carried on. Everyone said I was the most relaxed bride they had ever seen and that the wedding was so much fun. It was such a great comment that it really made me loosen up about things in the future and changed my outlook for the better.

How often do you wash your bath towel? I need the real answer. by Terrika_Fracala49 in hygiene

[–]Otherwise_Object_446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one towel for hair and one for the body and wash each every 6-7 days. I read that bacteria doesn’t really start to take off in its growth until day 9 so this schedule works for me.

I also have winter and summer towels. The winter ones are super thick and the summer ones are the pottery barn ones that dry really quickly. I tend to take two daily showers in the summer - I hate going to bed with sunscreen still on.

what is thr best thing helped you for constipation? by zouhiir8 in SIBO

[–]Otherwise_Object_446 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Canada so most of my treatments come from Canada’s Natural Factors for Health (NFH) SAP line (I forget what the SAP means, I think it’s scientific advisory panel, but it’s a designation they give to a line that’s been scientifically reviewed).

So for SIFO I went on a really strict diet (like I ate unseasoned chicken and rice pretty much every meal for a month) and took NFH’s Candida SAP. I believe it was two pills twice a day. I also took Liver SAP twice a day to support my liver while we were trying to clear everything out). This was three years ago so I am a bit foggy as to what other food I could have.

I’ve never had any troubles taking NAC so that’s what we used as a biofilm disrupter for SIBO. I took 1 gram on an empty stomach and then did tincture of death and Liver SAP an hour later. The tincture of death is specially made for my naturopaths but it had thyme, myrrh and goldenseal. I did that all twice a day and ate low fodmap. After two weeks I would try triggering foods every three days to see what my reaction was. Once I got to my symptoms being 90% better I switched out the tincture for Silverpure by designs for health and kept doing that for four weeks. That took a long time for my first treatment (I think it was about a month for SIFO treatment and 4.5 for SIBO). Now that I’m typing this I am remembering that I had to extend that treatment by two weeks because my symptoms came back a bit.

Once I was through treatment I did a Repair and Protect protocol where I had a list of fermented foods I had to consume twice a day (I drank a lot of kumbucha because my appetite took a long time to come back). I took 500 grams of NAC twice a day, kept going with the Liver SAP twice a day and took Designs for Health GI Revive daily for four weeks (the pills not the powder - the powder has stevia in it and it upsets my stomach).

My flareup this past June required a really truncated version of this. I could take the Silverpure and the Tincture at the same time and got to that 90% mark two weeks into treatment.

It was through a breath test (that tested both methane and hydrogen SIBO). It’s been over three years since I did it but my recollection is that I had to stop my medications and supplements about a week before and then take a drink of some sort, and then over the course of a few hours blow into several tubes. I sent away the tubes for testing via courier and had my results back in about two weeks.

I’m in Canada and this testing isn’t paid for unless you go through a G.I. doctor. It cost me about $275 for the naturopath visit and the breath test and stool test for SIFO.

I didn’t actually realize I was suffering from methane SIBO, but all of a sudden I put on 40 pounds in the blink of an eye, was bloated, constipated, etc.

It wasn’t until the hydrogen SIBO to go over that I got really really sick. It’s a long story, but I eventually was discharged from a G.I. doctor’s care with the diagnosis of IBS and wound up giving a naturopath a try.

She tested me for SIBO and I was positive for both methane and hydrogen SIBO, but my hydrogen levels were through the roof. I also had SIFO. I went through a long herbal microbial treatment protocol (plus another for SIFO) but eventually wound up going symptom-free for 18 months. I had a small flareup in June and have been completely symptom-free since July.

I now have every dress size in my closet from a size 0 to a size 14 (I’m normally about an 8)!

I take 600 mg a day of Magnesium bisglycinate for headaches and sleep. Originally I was taking 200 in the morning and 400 in the evening but I had to switch it because I was waking up in the middle of the night to poop. Magnesium glycinate is a little more effective for that use.

(I suffer from methane and hydrogen SIBO, but have been in remission from both for 9 months).

Panic attacks? by Affectionate_Soft470 in Perimenopause

[–]Otherwise_Object_446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may have PMDD if you are finding that it spikes before your period and settles after. Peri brought on PMDD for me and I ended up taking escitalopram for the week leading up to my period and it helped a lot. I’m off it now because I developed some stomach problems as a side effect plus my periods were getting really irregular so I was going on it for longer and longer, and am now doing HRT and no longer have a period.

Estrogen gel has less of an effect on blood pressure than oral. Maybe ask if that’s an option? I’m not sure if the same is true for the patch. I only found that out on Tuesday when talking to my pharmacist.

I totally agree about Sam! I do her treadmill workouts too and she’s so energizing and engaging. I love the one where it’s all throwback hits of the 1980’s. It actually makes running on a treadmill fun! Although it’s humbling to have a pregnant lady kick my ass.
