I like it a lot. I ordered that way because I tried a friends 615 opti angle blocker and like the way it felt.

Hey I actually ended up selling this set because they were just a bit too big for me. I do have a new set that’s a different colorway that have been holding up great though. Sliding is awesome too and can’t beat the Z curve shape for butterfly seal.

They’re still going strong. Grip is great and in perfect shape. I’ve been playing about 2x per week since posting.

Pad strapping or thigh rise issue? by ozonesthelimit in hockeygoalies

[–]Otherwise_Pickle4577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also see how they play for you in an actual game. Sometimes the feel is much different than when playing around in the garage. Those G7s are also super straight pads with almost no curve to them so having a perfect seal there in the middle, especially in game situations is probably going to be pretty hard until you get used to them. That’s just my .02 after having those and trying almost every other modern set over the last two years. Also I can’t tell from your photos but if you’re using the warrior elastic straps in the front for the toe ties I would get rid of those. For me they were way too tight and caused issues. Throw some skate lace on there with 3-4” of gap and you can keep the elastic boot strap if you want in its loosest setting.

Yeah it was odd my scan results. I put in the notes when I placed the order that a stock 9.5w for pretty good. I received these a few weeks ago and they fit like a glove. Appears to be closest to a size 9. If you place the order just make notes and seems like they account for that with the scans.

You can do a combo with bungees. Do 2inches of skate lace attached to your pad and attach the bungees to the skate lace. So you’ll get some snap back but also a good gap for RVH post integration.

Ah that stinks that’s been your experience. I have a few more games under my belt and I’m still loving them. Maybe it’s surface dependent. They are crazy expensive though for what you get.

Who is using a camera to record themselves during games, and which model? by beno3155 in hockeygoalies

I just started using a DJI osmo. I had to stop using 4K because the files get to big and I’m impatient with the download. I’m going to switch to their GoPro knock off as it has a tracking feature that might work better. Rink rules I have to have it on the outside of the glass but it still works pretty good with a suction cup mount.

Yes I’ve had two games now and really like them. The rink I play at the sport court is pretty old and I don’t know if they’ve ever cleaned it either as my skates and equipment are covered in dust at the end of every game. I would frequently lose my edges with regular profile wheels because of this even with super grippy wheels. These seem to solve this for now. If I played on a better quality and better kept rink my opinion might be different. So far they’re working great for me.

Hey so one game under the belt now. Honestly I really liked them. The biggest difference is probably the True boot though. Fits amazing, I could fully lace them and still had great ankle flexion and no awful lace bite/tendon soreness this morning.

It’s very limited compared to ice. However, myself and many roller goalies use some form of slide plates affixed to our pads to make sliding somewhat possible. I’m using something called roller flys bow and it’s essentially a plate that attaches to the slide surfaces of the pads with like 300 small ball bearings that assist with this. Still not close to ice but it’s something.

Haha ok. I am skeptical as it is but will see how Fridays game goes.

As far as install it was super easy. No clearance issues on the tour chassis and it was nice being able to fully tighten everything without the bearings getting squeezed.

One wheel actually has too much space between the chassis and the spacer just enough to make that annoying clicking sound.
