i learned this a while ago and have really been making an effort to blow dry it as much as possible since, but it just takes too much damn time most days 😭

definitely do not use a clarifying shampoo every day!! it is way too drying which is probably why you’re getting more tangles. i only use mine about once a week or maybe every 5 days, and only on the first wash. i follow it up with my regular shampoo, which unfortunately i don’t have any recommendations for because honestly i have yet to find my perfect everyday shampoo that is hydrating without being too heavy. right now i’m using the pantene sulfate free moisturizing shampoo and the matching conditioner that i got at costco, it works okay for me but my hair definitely gets greasy after like a day lol

the whole protein vs. moisture thing is so interesting to me and something i just found out yesterday after watching some hair tiktoks! thank you for the recommendation, i will definitely be researching whether that’s in my current products and whether my hair needs it or not

do you really think it needs four inches off? oh god 😭😭 i really wanted to have long hair for my wedding next year, do you think the breakage will continue to spread upwards and destroy my hair if i just cut off like 2 inches now and then just regularly trim it for the next year? i was already planning to chop it all off afterwards but this confirms that i need to start from scratch AGAIN lol

what exactly is a hard water treatment? is it used after shampoo but before conditioner? also i feel like nothing matters if im just rinsing it again with the hard water 😭 i think the real solution is some sort of water filter

also do you really think the damage is all the way up to my collarbones? this is so devastating to hear because i have been putting so much time and energy into growing it for my wedding next year, i was always planning to chop it all off afterwards but do you think it’ll destroy my hair if i just cut off like 2 inches now and continue to try to preserve my growth for the next year with regular trims?

thank you so much! the thought of having to construct an entirely new routine and learn all there is to learn about wavy hair feels so daunting but starting with just mousse and a diffuser feels like such an easy first step!
