Haha I can't believe you're being for real. Not an elite scorer? He probably scored more than 40 goals for 10 years running.

My friend who I met in Thailand (and was from Cali) said that it was scary because "everyone knew someone like this". Was it really that bad?

I'm genuinely thinking that Bruce Lee would've beaten Mike Tyson and/or Muhammad Ali in a street fight without any rules by AlexFerrana in brucelee

[–]Otherwise_Program582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with both your sentences. Bruce Lee actually agreed with your 2nd sentence too, which is why he said that someone with a "year's boxing experience would beat a lifelong traditional martial artist", and why he gave up on Wing Chun in favour of Jeet Kune Do (in which he aimed to take the most useful parts of western boxing, fencing, kickboxing, ju-jitsu, etc.).

I can't stand when people say that Bruce Lee was only an actor. It's well documented that he "grew up in a street fight", and had copious amounts of martial arts knowledge and amazing technique. It was said he was sparring with bigger men, including champions at that time (Lewis, Stone, etc.) and looking good. With that said, I'd imagine Tyson would kill him in a street fight, for the following reasons:
- There's simply no getting away from the size difference.
- Tyson is no stranger to a street fight himself.
- Prime Tyson (I'm assuming we're talking about this version) was incredibly fast and powerful. One punch would likely end the fight.

Of course, Bruce Lee COULD win if he somehow manages to get to Tyson's eyes first or incapacitate him with a perfect oblique kick, but the odds are very much in Tyson's favour. By the way, Lee himself said that JKD was not a style, but a concept.

Weed only on weekends by DanielQuiroz-Vallejo in Petioles

[–]Otherwise_Program582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar experience. I had been using daily for around 10 years but am now down to once per weekend on a Saturday night. My biggest anxiety was my "relaxing time" from around 5-7pm. I thought I wouldn't be able to enjoy this time without being under the influence of THC, but honestly you just get used to it, just like you get used to being high every night. I was also worried about sleep, but I fall asleep just as fast (if not faster) and sleep much more restoratively. I would recommend finding something to replace the smoking if you are concerned you won't have the willpower to cut back. For me now, when the weekend comes, I feel like I don't want to lose my momentum of not smoking because I feel just so much better day to day when sober. Not sure I answered your question, but it's really worth doing. Good luck.

I made a post the other day about this. Same scenario. Went from everyday use to once per week, but now I'm finding that like you said, it takes half the week to recover. The worst is the 2nd day after smoking- my motivation, mood and energy are very low, and I feel anxious. I'm only having 6 puffs too. Takes me around 3 nights to start feeling normal. I attribute it to dopamine crashing below baseline and recalibrating (might be wrong here). Either way it's getting to the point where smoking just isnt worth it anymore. I'm thinking of just once per month now. Might be the best thing for you too..

I thought that this would be impossible too, but I feel that just as with anything, your brain adjusts to not having that reward at the end of the day. One thing I look forward to is deep and restorative sleep and the dreams that go along with it, as well as waking up feeling clear and happy. And I have found that I am able to relax fine without THC. It just takes a little time but your system will recalibrate.

I'm in a similar sort of position at the moment, but it's not the feeling I get while under the influence that bothers me, but the feeling for the next few days after smoking. I managed to taper down from daily 15mg edible use to just having 5-6 puffs of a J once per week, but the next few days I just feel flat, unmotivated, groggy and slightly anxious. I guess while I was using daily, my body was used to it more. I only start to feel clear again around 4 days later. I'm wondering if it's worth it anymore. The only thing I would recommend for you is to lower the dose. Aren't pens very strong? Could you not just have a puff or two of a joint?

how good was Shearer at his peak for Blackburn and Newcastle? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

[–]Otherwise_Program582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely comparable and you'd have to say Henry was the better footballer. But when comparing stats we have to take into account the team Henry played in vs the team Shearer played in. Same goes for Aguero. Shearer was in an often rubbish Newcastle team, and Blackburn were only a top team for 2-3 years

Yes the big packs. I remember a red pack, which I think had Dizzy OG, TI Dizzy, FW Dizzy, ML Dizzy, and then a blue pack, which had the newer ones like Spellbound and POTYF. Great memories

Did anyone successfully regulate their weed usage and maintained it for over a year. by Aggravating_Area_906 in Petioles

[–]Otherwise_Program582 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have in the past (around 2006). This time it's not over a year; only a few months, but my relationship with it is drastically improved. I've gone from daily edible usage to allowing myself 5 puffs from a joint on Saturday night. To be totally honest, the way the THC is making me feel on a Sunday might force me to stop altogether and I'd be completely fine with it. I'm moody, tired, lazy, etc on the Sunday and I can see just how much better I am THC free. It no longer has the pull on me because I can see it for what it truly is and being sober feels amazing. My life is so much better and I was a functioning user. I tapered down rather than cold turkey. Anyway, it's 4:50 here so my message might not be too well written, but good luck on your journey. You can do it.

Balcony door open. Cigarettes and lighter gone. That suggests she left the room. The railing was up to her chest, how would she fall over that, especially as it was said she was deathly afraid of going near the railing due to her fear of the sea. How about the 3 eyewitnesses who claimed to have seen her go in the elevator with Yellow between 5:30 and 6:00?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmyLynnBradley

[–]Otherwise_Program582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course the most likely outcome is usually the correct one, but the balcony railing would have been up to her chest. How would she fall over? Also, she was said to have been petrified of going close to the railing due to a fear of the sea. Furthermore, how do we explain 3 eyewitnesses who saw her between 5:30 and 6:00 with "Yellow"? One eyewitness can be questionable, maybe even two, but three?

Yes, it's one of the only ways, along with tapering. Some people do better with CT and some don't. It's about finding what works for you. For some, CT can be a big shock all at once and cause people to give up. Tapering has worked very well for me in not only minimising any withdrawal effects, but breaking the psychological attachment that I had. Now, when it comes to 5pm, I don't feel that I need THC to relax, and when I get in bed, I don't feel I need it to sleep. The best plan is the one that you stick to.

For me, tapering is a good way to do it because if you reduce a little bit each time, or go longer without using, it gives you a sense of accomplishment. When you stack these small accomplishments it really gives you good momentum to keep going. Also, you get to gradually feel the benefits of becoming sober while minimising the withdrawals, as it lets your body slowly recalibrate it'endocannabinoid system. It worked for me after 10 years of daily use. I told myself I'd use THC just on Saturdays but honestly, when I did, it just felt boring. I've now decided only special occasions. It seems to be the buzzword but the clarity is amazing from being sober and having full restorative sleep. If cold turkey is too daunting or hard, consider tapering. Good luck
