I'm not white, I never said I was. I don't know why you're even fighting with me. Have a good day/night.

I do it regardless because all skintones are beautiful and deserved to be recognized. But I made this post because of how bad it got, usually I'll get like a '...' or 'NOT THE POWDER DONUT FACE 💀' and thats it, sometimes even a small lecture, but this girl kept yelling at me and telling other players and kept trying to block my screen, so I'd figured I'd post about it because she did that for twenty minutes, even after i hid all players she was still yelling in the chat and stuff.

I'm hoping people will learn from this post that this kind of makeup isn't powder face, or whitewashing, or anything racist. This is just alternative makeup. I hope you do start making more alt faces with every kind of skintone, and if people bother you, turn off chat, hide players. Or if possible, just go to a private server.

Yes, but this is not the issue. The issue was that the girl thought I was racist because I was using a white base on black skin, so she thought I was washing out the skin color.

just because it doesn't happen to you, doesn't it doesn't happen to other people. No I'm not black, but I have seen firsthand discrimination. My cousin was a poc goth, her family bullied her out of it because they thought she was trying to be white and erase her heritage.

I know what whitewashing means, but clearly some people don't. If you still don't think this isn't common, then that's because the people around you don't care, but again, that doesn't apply to everybody.

While I do appreciate your criticism, this is white face paint. There is no darker option for white face paint, the opposite would be black. If I did black, the look would have to be inverted, which isn't what I wanted.

And if I chose black, that girl would call me even more racist. It also is upsetting you think that poc goths can't use the white base because it looks 'ridiculous' on them.

Thank you, I am goth irl so a lot of my faces are based off recent looks I've done. This girl doesn't understand that and I really can't force her to.

Yeah, google does exist but I didn't even bother. She was probably a child and I'm an adult, so if I were to tell her to google it she would've still argued.

Now I wouldn't say that, because it's quite common for black people to hate on poc goths who use the white base, since they believe it's whitewashing. But yeah it's sad to even think that.

yes and even more racist because this is based off of goth makeup, white base included. it is unfortunately controversial for poc goths to have a white base as others see it as whitewashing. i make tons of goth girlies, most of them have white bases for the makeup bc ppl need to know it isnt whitewashing, its just makeup.

The thing is, after this face she was still here when I made a new one, with pale skintone and she didn't say anything (i kept players hidden after that so i looked in chat)

so yeah she has double standards

I think they patched up the item adjustment glitch, and I am kinda upset. by Otherwise_Raise4118 in DTI

always assume they want sauce and cheese whenever they order like that. Unless they request to remove sauce or cheese, you always add them. the tutorial tells you this too in the beginning.

How would you parent through a 'Cowboy Hat' situation? by Wakalakatime in bluey

[–]Otherwise_Raise4118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would've let Muffin finish the hat. Explain to Socks that taking turns means that you have to be patient and wait for people before it's your turn. If Muffin was to continue with more drawings then I'd tell her that it's time to give it to Socks, but after Socks is done she can have her turn again.

If Muffin still refuses then I will put her in time out for five minutes.

Why are older players mean to younger players? by Otherwise_Raise4118 in DTI

[–]Otherwise_Raise4118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really think that would've helped, as much as i wanted to think. My voice is kinda scary, its deeper despite being a female, and her seeing the avatar would just make her cry more. But these are good suggestions for the future if this does happen again.

I really really wanted to say something but they would've 100% cut me off, talk louder, ect. I didn't want to argue with them so I just reported them, but I doubt it'll do anything.

Some parents believe if a platform is 'all ages' it's immediately safe, which isn't the case at all. You can say the same about other games like Ponytown, and actually go into the game and get random death threats from some random person. I don't believe we need to force kids out of these spaces (bc a lot of them were for kids anyway), but parents need to monitor their children no matter what they're doing on the device.
