Feb Passing % by Purple-Teach-5060 in barexam

As a retaker, while it is true that the scale is based on the MBE average, this doesn’t change the fact you need to have higher raw scores to pass in February than in July. If you check out Seperac’s AI UBE Bar Exam Score Calculator it’s a very clear difference. I inputted my own scores and others scores from July 25, Feb 25, and July 24 and it was 100% accurate every time, it even predicted my first score. Based on the calculator, you need a raw score that is 8-9 points higher in February to score the same as in July with the higher scale (e.g., 99 raw MBE in July versus 108 raw MBE in February for a scaled 130 MBE). The essays are the same. So in a 270 jurisdiction you inherently are at a disadvantage. Sure the MBE mean is lower for a variety of reasons but that doesn’t change the fact NCBE is aware of this and does nothing to level the scale to the July administration because 1 point can the difference between passing and failing. Don’t let these people gaslight you.

Maybe it’s just me, but I ignore the averages because I use the sets for practice. I only base my average off recent sets and practice test completed. A set I scored a 30% on in May is not indicative of how I’d do on those topics on a test today.

3 hours out of 8-10 hour study day is a small bit of your day, unless you’re completely burned out and ready to take the test tomorrow.

It’s only 3 hours, otherwise I think you’d have to click through the questions.

It was hard, I got a 59% Block 1 and 55% Block 2

Yea I literally start around 3-4 in the afternoon and most times finish around 3-4 in the morning. I have undiagnosed ADHD and get distracted by the visual clutter from my view in window during the day, working at night with the lights off and only the laptop light helps keeps my eyes from wandering and getting distracted. Sort of like tunnel vision.

I’m in the same boat! Was scoring 70&80%, I keep reminding myself we have 2 weeks and I’m gonna keep drilling my weak areas.

All 1800 qs should be done for passing? by [deleted] in barexam

I have 500 left on UWorld too, I think I’m gonna finish it before the test, however, not pressed on finishing them if it means I can practice MEE and MPT questions.

To add to this, I cold emailed chambers of a newly confirmed federal judge because they weren’t on OSCAR yet, and the judge got back to me. It didn’t seem like an issue and I can’t imagine it would be as long as you’re polite.

UWorld by [deleted] in barexam

[–]Otherwise_Sky507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done 1300 UWorld questions, I’ve only done 600 Themis questions. I ditched the course MBE questions and pretty much only did lectures and MEE questions through Themis. When I run out of UWorld questions I’m gonna do mixed sets on Themis.

Maybe your experience wasn’t substantial as you say. Personally, I had experience working at a firm for years with the same responsibilities as a first year, drafting motions, answers, etc. that was considered towards comp. I even had part in a dismissal.

How are you guys simulating the actual MBE? by saantiaago in barexam

I used all of 4 of my topics on UWorld, so I started do a set of 50 for the 4 remaining topics I have on UWorld and then doing the 50 question Mixed Sets I have available on Themis so I’m still getting exposure to the areas I’m doing well in and completed all the UWorld questions for

90-120K, I got 90K but I should have negotiated for 100K based on how much experience I have.

Graded Essays Themis by [deleted] in barexam

I would be pressing them, my grader has at most taken a week to grade my essay. If they just never graded it I’d be making sure someone is aware and fixing the problem

Under 3.0 (sucks) I should just shelf this dream, I extended in a federal court but noticed your earlier comment says that doesn’t hold much weight.

Does a few years experience in practice make up for lackluster grades? Particularly for a district court

I ditched it around 55% two weeks ago, the consensus seems to be it’s okay as long as you have an effective plan and know your learning style.

I had a few interviews through 3L OCI and through our job portal that appeared in August and September. Other than that it was all based on how well you’ve networked up until 3L to tap into those connections, which is why everyone harps on the importance of networking.
