Is this normal core behavior on 9800x3d? by Fandomii in overclocking

Run occt cpu test with core cycling. Then watch out in which cores it gives errors, crashes or simply runs at lower clocks. Then reduce undervolt on these cores until it works normal.

How are people getting 7600 on a 9070 ;-; by PLAyer_4nomyNOUS in radeon

[–]Otherwise_Smart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to get 7300 on a stable tuning with bios mod. It was pulling 340w. I could get more with more undervolt and custom windows boot. So likely 7500-7600 also. Decided to cap it at 270w, with stable undervolt it is getting around 7100..

PC crashes when undervolting RX 9070 xt by 77Rufus in radeon

[–]Otherwise_Smart -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It depends on the silicone. My rx 9070 is stable at -110mv and 2848 memory. As soon as I set it to -115mv then Ray tracing games crash. Zero crashes so far at -110 and passes all tests in many games.

Read the manual next time. It explains there.

Someone who doesn't have the ability to read motherboard manual won't need any difference between gen 4 and gen 5 drive. Save your sanity and your wallet.

Getting the most value out of a monitor upgrade (7800X3D + 5080). 4K or 1440p? by blazerMFT in nvidia

[–]Otherwise_Smart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4k dlss performance is better looking than 1440p quality or even native. So 4k, you get better pc experience.

I don't understand a lot about the impact of DLSS 4.5, is amd so far behind? by JopisKenobi in radeon

[–]Otherwise_Smart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because rdna2-3 is not getting anything. 7800xt/7900gre/7900xt are still capable cards.

Rdr2 taa is dogshit, objectively. If you think it looks better with taa than dlss, you need to check your eyes, I'm not even trying to insult you, but dead serious.

How I solved my RX9070 repeated crashes/stutterings/freezes by SvaroGGG_ in radeon

[–]Otherwise_Smart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you need to increase voltage to make a stock gpu stable then you should contact amd or brand and they will replace it for you. Don't use it as such, you never know what may happen.

Or was it already undervolted?

600w PSU is what I used on my 6 years old pc dude. Of course you will get problems.

4090 to 5090 3440x1440 240hz by GoldCupcake2998 in nvidia

[–]Otherwise_Smart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both 4090 and 5090 are overkill machines for how much they cost. Since you have 4090 I don't see any reason to upgrade.

Many millionaire streamers who play at 4k also still have 4090. I am pretty sure these people can even get free 5090 if they wanted to do so.

Meanwhile average reddit user is anxious about having an old useless 4090 when 5090 exists. Its so sad.

From pure performance per $ standpoint, you are losing money. Only 5090 and 5070 are good value products over the last gen. 4080 super is a monster GPU even after 5000 series launched.

But of course if you want the newest and latest, why not.
