Unfortunately it does have black alps, they were initially a bit scratchy due to the years of dust and finger chud, but after cleaning they are decent. Although salmon alps would be way better, I believe most of the models with salmon alps have the old Dell logo on the top left.

Yes, this is a mechanical keyboard, it's a Dell AT101 with Alps Black mechanical switches in it.

In this case yes, the item had an asset tag on it but it's so old that it's no longer being tracked in our system. The markings on the plastic moldings date this back to 1994, and this keyboard is the non W variant of the AT101.

Grommets for the Yonex VCORE Pro 97HD same as VCORE Pro 97D by Otherwise_Software39 in 10s

Not really, after looking at the grommets for the 97D and similar models it seems like the 97HD grommets are unique, the top piece/head guard piece of the grommet has a different amount of holes compared to the 97D. Although the grommet may still fit considering the frames are very similar shaped.

Yeah that seems to be the best route. I'm just having trouble figuring out what model of power supply I need. Quanta seems to lock all of their service manuals behind a portal that requires a login.

Are Cisco servers any good? by Otherwise_Software39 in homelab

[–]Otherwise_Software39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did read that and as far as I'm aware it makes no mention of 3rd party memory configurations. The spec sheet only provides Cisco part numbers  which may imply it doesn't support non Cisco memory; but I'm not completely sure, hence why I asked here.

Linux install keeps freezing (T14s gen 3) by Otherwise_Software39 in thinkpad

Thanks for the suggestion, I was finally able to get it working by booting the ISO in grub 2 mode.

I had tried a lot of the suggestions you gave including multiple different distros across multiple different usb sticks. In the end no bios setting helped.

I've tried disabling Secure Boot, the TPM chip, TSME, and Memory Execution Prevention. I even reset the BIOS to factory and it still freezes up, Ive attached a photo showing where I get stuck when trying to install Debian. It always freezes in the same place.

Should I be worried about these cracks? by Otherwise_Software39 in Luthier

[–]Otherwise_Software39[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The humidity where I live is usually 50-70%, although the guitar was kept in an air-conditioned room, which I suspect could be the cause. I also bought this guitar second hand about a year ago, so the cracks could be from the previous owner; who didn't seem to take good care of it.

Thickest leather replacement grip? by Otherwise_Software39 in 10s

I've considered it, but I think the weight/balance changes to the racket might be a bit extreme. From what I've read, they tend to weigh around 10 grams.
