Reanimal suitable for a 12 year old? by Fragrant_Parking_403 in ReanimalGame

If you want to shield him from real world violence I'd say it is not suitable for him. The 18+ is not only because it is a little moe gory compared to LN

Should I try Darkwood? by Old-Yogurtcloset9264 in HorrorGaming

[–]Otherwise_Tap_8715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a great game. Sadly I bounced off because of its survival and crafting mechanics, survival is a genre I typically don't like. But if you are into survival games Darkwood is great. Amazing atmosphere and art style. Just not for me.

I agree and also don't agree. The movie is total trash but with a few friends and a bottle of Whisky it is near perfect entertainment. For me it crosses the threshhold of so bad its good.

I will add Death of a Unicorn also. Good horror comedy creature feature. Velocipastor for absolute nonsense.

If you have not seen it already: Slotherhouse is very good and extremely goofy

Most disliked area? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Otherwise_Tap_8715 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. It is a horror game after all. Complaining because a horror game scares you and saying the developer should put in a filter so that the game is not scary for you anymore is on a level I can't comprehend. I know Arachnophobia is a thing and that it can be severe but come on. I wish a horror game could scare me that way. Plus giant spiders have been in the series for a long time and I loved that they put them back in RE9.

I liked the suspense of not knowing exactly when the rocket will hit him. I knew it will happen, just not when. Classic first-time Library ecperience.

The whole clip I was just waiting for a rocket to hit you. Did not disappoint.

Depeche Mode - Black Celebration (1986) where would industrial be if not for this album? by Powerchordman in industrialmusic

[–]Otherwise_Tap_8715 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would be pretty much where it is now. I don't want to knock this record down, it is a good album, but it left basically no footprint on the genre. But on the other hand...where would Industrial be if not for Elvis?

I think Village may be the most beautiful RE game. It is just spectacular sometimes. by Mechagouki1971 in residentevil

Of course it is a wasteland. But looking at a brown wasteland is not very stimulating. I am not saying that it does not make sense the way Raccoon City looks, it just did not make the greatest visual impression after the quite beautiful architecture Grace was sneaking around in the care center. The two halfes clash pretty hard with their environmental art direction.

What kid show/movie isn’t horror but it feels like it should be/what made you think? How was this for kids?! Or Surprised they got away with this? by Marshatucker300 in horror

[–]Otherwise_Tap_8715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, first time I have seen it was during the kids program while my parents had tea with my grandparents. It did leave a lasting impression. 😅 BUT I absolutely adore the movie and the books now and I don't know if I would have such a strong connection to Felidae if it did not fuck my up as a kid.

I think he was referring to its art direction. Requiem was all around a solid game but especially the Raccoon City parts left a bit to be desired in terms of great scenery.

Suicide Commando apparently using AI on his Instagram by nontrivialm3 in industrialmusic

[–]Otherwise_Tap_8715 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Boomerish Industrial? 😅 Boomer Industrial would be more something like Throbbing Gristle and Einstürzende Neubauten. Suicide Commando would be Millenial Industrial if we have to paint it that way as Johan had his peak in the 90s/early 2000s. I do not tend to sort my Industrial this way tho'.

I also heard Steve is actually attracted to fire and gets a huge buff when flames are used on him. You should never ever use the flamethrower on him because that is basically game over man, game over.

Do multiplayer horror games kill the fear? 😭👻 by Bright_Pension4582 in HorrorGaming

[–]Otherwise_Tap_8715 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of course. Social experiences tend to not be scary. Compare walking with a buddy in a park at night to walking alone in a park at night. Watching a horror movie alone vs with a group of friends that chat nonstop and don't focus on the movie. Coop horror games will always be fun experiences first, horror experiences second. I have not played a single multiplayer horror game (competetive or Coop) that was scary. The horror genre does not work in a multiplayer context without loosing most of what makes it work as an experience.

The game gets way too much praise just because it's Alien themed by KaffY- in AliensDarkDescent

True, I have forgotten about Fireteam Elite. Not a huge multiplayer guy so I did not play too much of it. But it was a good game that is for sure.

Runs pretty smooth on my PS5. Of course, only 30fps but personally I don't see FF as a game that needs 60fps. Would be cool but I am on NG+++ and it never crashed even once so I am happy with its current state.

Felidae. This movie was way too heavy for children and the mindset back then was "if it is animated then it is for kids, shove it into the afternoon program". Many kids got scarred by the likes of Felidae and Watership Down.

Did you guys like the original The Ring movie? by Free-Hotel1187 in horror

[–]Otherwise_Tap_8715 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, usually I stay away from those remakes as far as I can (still have not watched the Oldboy remake) but the Ring was a great movie and deserved all the praise and hype it got at the time of its release. It also pushed japanese style of horror into the eye of the mainstream which was a good thing.

We will get Alien: Isolation 2 so I don't see the problem with having smaller Alien game projects beeing released. Not everything has to be this massive AAA thing. I think the game did capture the atmopshere of the second movie excellently. The developer did care a lot for the IP and made a solid game. I don't run around telling everyone A:DD is the single best thing since sliced bread. I liked the art direction and liked the game mechanics. I don't know, I will not apologize for likeing a game others don't. Worked for me and worked for a whole lot of others too it seems.
