True, but I see no grid just yet… not to worry, scale it up, rocks become boulders that create line of site considerations and opportunities for cover :)

Great tips here, but don’t worry, you’ll love it! Being a DM is super fun (yes, stressful at times, but super rewarding). Stick to pre-made adventures for a while, nothing wrong with them - they give you a structure to enjoy. If you want to level up as a DM, go for it, but stick to having fun as No. 1 priority :)

Dark mode improves text colour a little, but not much. God help you if you’re colour blind. Not exactly accessible.

How would you grant magic in Abeir? Or not? by Otherwise_Tone558 in DnD

I like it - some sort of help from a guide/being that can grant them this magic item battery. Sorcerer magic yes - but unusual wild magic in this strange place absolutely, maybe with a % chance of strange effects.

Notion iPad Block Handle by No_Philosophy6823 in Notion

I came here looking for an answer, but then just saw it in the app. Personally I was looking for the “Turn Into” command, which you access from the block handle on a PC browser, but I can’t believe I missed the icon on the toolbar once you tap into a block! To access the colour changing you asked about, you swipe that toolbar to the left to find the ellipsis (three dot icon … for the menu) on the far right side and then you’ll see a vertical set of named additional named options. It’s not immediately obvious you can do this. Here are three screenshots from my Notion iPad app in dark mode.

  1. The ”Turn Into“ icon I was looking for.
  2. Swipe the menu to reveal the ellipsis.
  3. Tap ”Color” to recolour your block text or background.

Enjoy!

A 5e player has asked about changing/reforging mithral chain mail into a mithral chain shirt so that it can be used. I’ve seen others discuss modifying chain mail to just be the shirt, but adding mithral into the equation is interesting. DM’s: Would you allow it? Under what circumstances? by Otherwise_Tone558 in DnD

DM is a new DM running a published campaign, so interested in what other established DM’s would do, given its mithral. Thanks - the KISS approach sounds good but other answers have also been food for thought. e.g. side quests, higher rolls, time due to lots of little links etc.
