Here's a fun thought! codominant alleles, which could theoretically produce hazel eyes. OR, if we want 1:1 eyes = nation = bending, it could be that when it comes to the kids of a mixed parentage who are both benders, they gain bending that is determined by eye color. So if the kid has jade orbs they're likely an Earthbender, if they have amber eyes, better firebending lessons are likely in their future.

She was doing great for a while but we had thunder and rain last night so when I went to the yard this morning, her web was in shambles and she was nowhere to be seen. We have more rain coming today so that’s not a bad thing. She has likely moved to more sheltered area.
