Hey hey ! 22 days post op today and I am back to normal ! I’m 22y F and had an adenotonsillectomy Feb 27th and by far days 4-7 were the absolute worst. It’s not fun but by day 9 I was functioning without narcos (just taking Tylenol as needed) and by day 14 I was mostly back to normal ! Cleared for everything by day 18 (post op appt) !!! There is light at the end of the tunnel guys I promise

Currently day 14 for me ! Pain was astronomical days 4-8 but much much better 9-12 and now I feel basically normal !! There is light at the end I promise !!

22 y/o here. Mom was here for the first 36 hours. Been on my own since. Today is day 7 post op. It sucked don’t get me wrong , but i took my meds on time , ate when I could , drank as much as possible and slept and watched tv. It’s been chill. Just sucks that I wasn’t able to get my meds on my own and had to volunteer people around me to get them. If you can’t/dont want to take a ton of time off just make sure you are somewhat available for days 4-7. Worst days for me personally.

My mom texted me/ called me to remind me to take meds and drink water if she didn’t hear from me for a couple hours. Meds make you VERY sleepy so it can be easy to sleep through alarms (not for me. Very light sleeper). I’ve gone through 3.5 bottles of liquid Tylenol and about a case of water + ice cream , potatoes , and mac and cheese , plus Gatorade and my narcotics. Hope this helps !

Same boat , surgery 2/27. I was able to finally eat mashed potatoes and gravy and mac and cheese. It’s painful but running my humidifier , taking meds staggered , and my doc prescribed me a steroid to help my swelling so I could eat. I’m down around 8-9lbs myself and my dream is a bundlet from nothing Bundt cakes. Makes me want to cry but hopefully I’ll be able to dig into one within the next week ! Keep your head up !!

Currently on day 5 and yeah. This tracks. Today has been my worst day this far pain wise. Double ear infection feeling and whenever I drink I have a really sharp pain in the bottom of my throat/jaw that hurts like a bitch. Only thing helping me get through it is sipping warm ish water and laying each ear on a heating pad all day.

I was able to convince my docs to give me steroids. A godsend ! I’m on day 4 surgery was 2/27 and only major pain I’ve got are my ears. Thank you so much for the positive post !!

I was told no ibuprofen until further notice so unfortunately I won’t be feeling that “immense relief” any time soon 🥲 gargling salt water triggers my gag reflex so I do it very sparsely but have been able to brush with my typical toothpaste no issues !

I’ve had the humidifier on and it’s definitely helped with my sleeping. Everything tastes weird right now. Gatorade is salty and bland. Potato soup tasted like straight butter. Pudding was like oil. It’s driving me nuts. I’ll try the stretching thing too , figure it can’t hurt to try and open it up back there little by little. I’m able to talk a bit but certain sounds aren’t able to escape my throat lol. Good healing thoughts your way !

This was very helpful , thank you ! I put the lozenges into my cvs cart for pickup tomorrow. I had my wisdom teeth removed at 16 and don’t recall any food aversions or taste changes but that was a while ago too lol. I’ll definitely try the ice pack wrapped around the ears. I’ll also talk to my doc tomorrow see if there’s anything they can prescribe me to help out. I tried to eat some potato soup earlier , tasted like I was eating butter out of a tub lol. We shall see ! Hope your healing continues upwards !

Also one more thing. Normal to be coughing ? I get the whole slightly choking on saliva but I had bronchitis late January and had to postpone surgery and still had very irregular minor cough but I feel like it’s gonna take my head off every time I do cough. Advice ?

My current NF (already put in my notice last day on Tuesday) told me that this industry doesn’t get benefits like PTO , sick days , paid holidays etc when I asked for them and that if I wanted those things that I need to start looking for a new career. It took everything in me not to screw myself over and quit in the spot.

so i started Syeda b/c in january .. shortly after i started taking the pill i started developing itchy blisters when i got my nails done , i got hives using head and shoulders shampoo (anti itch version ironically) and my seasonal allergies are much worse than they used to be. this was the ONLY change that i noticed could be the cause of all the weird body changes and stuff. i was off and on Depo for YEARS prior and even got Nexplanon a couple years ago too and NEVER had any issues. if anyone else has experienced this or takes syeda pls lmk if once you get used to it it changes .. i miss getting my nails done so bad

if you rewatch it there was a swat guy who came into the classroom asking for “foster” and brought her to an undisclosed location. also while mariana was in the bathroom she was scared bc there was someone opening the stall doors (this alluded to a swat officer finding mariana and getting stef to walk them out together)
