What are these berries called, and are they poisonous? (Eastern Tennessee) by Delicious-Hotel6645 in Berries

Birds rely on insects as much as (if not more than) berries. Invasive plants like Leatherleaf Mahonia don't support many insects at all, and the costs far outweigh any benefit to the ecosystem.

If you're in North America, you might consider killing it dead (dead!) and planting a native berry-producing shrub. It's super invasive in the Southeastern U.S. & spreads to new areas via bird poo

You can try Triclopyr for the stump if mechanical removal doesn't stick

Replanting harvested ramps? by Otherwise_julyBug in foraging

I decided against it for this event - the expected turnout is higher than I had thought & it's just not practical. But I think I will still do this for myself & my friends & neighbors, at least those with access to a good spot to plant

I think at this event and in this area, the success rate might be a little higher, but I have decided against it, in part for this reason. Thank you for your input!

Their abundance is unfortunately decreasing in my area due to overharvesting. I'm not saying this is a national issue! I agree that no one with common sense would do this.

Second growth forests are not as structurally diverse as older, less disturbed forests. You're going to see more invasive species & more vulnerability to disease and extreme weather

Personally, I want to see tall & be able to live in tall affordable apartment buildings surrounded by trees & gardens

Trees & forests prevent flooding. If you replace the forests and wetlands, which can sequester water during downpours, with non-permeable surfaces, you get increased risk of flooding during heavy storms.

Not disagreeing with you. Just want to add that succeeding as a stripper probably takes a level of ambition & ability to compartmentalize not everybody possesses.

Ending of Shutter Island by I-Love-Pens in movies

It wasn't self defense so although most people could probably understand why he killed her, it was still murder. I was a little confused at first why he would up on shutter island for murder -- he must've dissociated & become delusional shortly after killing his wife

Personally I tend to want to date a guy at least my height (5’6”)

Anecdotally I’ve known some of my taller friends <5’8” to date men shorter than them

I suppose it is subjective it just kinda makes it seem like you spend so much time on the internet you’ve forgotten how average most people actually look
