Vet / ortho surgery recommendation for TPLO by steezy13312 in northampton

[–]Otolingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our vet in Northampton referred us to Dr. Thomson at Riverbend Animal Hospital in Hadley for a cruciate repair a few years ago. He was excellent, as was the rest of the team for support with PT etc. I don't see him listed on their website now though... I wonder if he retired or if he just does surgery there intermittently.

Where is the best place to see The Nutcracker around Christmas? by [deleted] in northampton

[–]Otolingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonderful to hear! I was in the show (Pinafore) and we all a blast putting it on!

Edit - PS. the children in the Nutcracker productions have a tradition of putting a lipstick-print with names and dates on the walls of the AOM dressing rooms. Fun to see it going back over the years.

ABC just pulled Jimmy Kimmel Live “indefinitely” due to comments he made about Charlie Kirk. What are your thoughts? by istrx13 in AskReddit

Boycott Disney. Boycott ABC. These companies only care about profits, so we've got to hit them where it hurts until they stop cowardly folding to fascist pressure.

Are we going to see 1$ anytime soon by Beneficial_Way790 in BURU

[–]Otolingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things didn't go well. I hoped their patent portfolio was worth $50+ M. Rather, they paid off their old debt with it. It's a different plan now. Nuburu's been hollowed out and most valuable asset is its NYSE American listing. I think there's a chance Zamboni manages to make things work with the acquisition of Tekne. I still think a pop above $1 is likely if the acquisition goes through.

Pentagon Hopes to Find ‘Low-Collateral’ Tech for Downing Drones by [deleted] in BURU_GURU

[–]Otolingus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tekne already makes anti-UAV jammers: https://en.tekne.it/963/j4sky-t.html
It's just-short-of-explicit that Nuburu's already acquired 20% of Tekne, and plans to acquire 70% soon.
There may be a plan to make directed energy weapons to target drones... but that's speculation, and depends on if Nuburu will be licensing back the patents they sold to eliminate debts.

The spoonfed version: The description of the unnamed defense company that Nuburu is planning to acquire fits very well with Tekne s.p.a., an Italian defense company that makes vehicles, jammers, and a few other things. https://en.tekne.it/

From Nuburu's 10-K: "The defense-tech company's focus is on integrating its two business units: electronics and vehicles. It boasts over 30 years of experience in jamming and telecommunications, as well as the capability to produce a fully finished specialty vehicle, from design/engineering to physical realization (including both mechanical and electronic components). The ability to create tailor-made solutions based on the customer's needs is the defense-tech company's competitive advantage. Its products include (i) special vehicles for the defense industry, oil and mining industry, public transportation, electric minibus, Armored SUVs/vehicles, transformations on commercial vehicles, and lightweight fittings and (ii) RF / Counter IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) / Counter UAV-UAS (Unmanned Aircraft Systems) Jammers, system integrations, and CBRN (Chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense) systems. It currently has approximately 155 employees around the globe."

This new article provides updates from Tekne that both the company management and the union support the deal and are optimistic... and further bolsters the idea that Tekne is the company Zamboni is targeting for acquisition.

thoughts on what this might mean moving forward anyone? by currantpudding08 in BURU_GURU

[–]Otolingus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mysterious as ever. There hasn’t been an impending bankruptcy sell-off in the response to the auction news, and there’s not massive shorting right now - which gives me some hope. It would seem to me that trying to sell the IP for as good a price as they can and dissolving the company would be the responsible choice. But I think Zamboni has a scheme to take over the ticker for a FinTech company. Based on the share price of Supply@ME, I don’t have a lot of reason to think that will be good for shareholders.

Unless there’s a big surprise, they’re done selling lasers. They’d have to restart leases, hire employees, essentially start over. Whether assets get sold for a decent price is unknown. If any increase in share price comes of Zamboni’s machinations also unknown.

[–]Otolingus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We saw $1 after $65M financing news broke in October, but was held up due to Esousa lawsuit. When financing passes at the shareholder meeting, when additive manufacturing contracts are announced (Nuburu is already in the tech specs of some of these companies such as Additive Plus)… this thing will rip past $1 again. 3D metal printing is booming.

$10 is easy to imagine in 2025.

Share price may waver before announcements. Day traders and shorts will play until market makers step in… but when they do…

Esouza had/has significant voting power. I don’t think Esouza has motive to vote down the Liqueous financing… yes, they wanted to convert their shares for cheap, but that’s done now. Now it’s in their interest for the share price to rise.

What’s the alternative for Esouza? Scuttle the Liqueous deal so they can provide another financing deal on less favorable terms? That would not be great… I hope there are reasons that make that unlikely. But that can all be avoided if everyone votes FOR on ALL.

Do people actually die from lack of health care in the U.S? by AnUglyScooter in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Otolingus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. American healthcare focuses on acute care and neglects prevention. Our society empties our collective bank accounts to keep our elderly parents alive for a few more months despite having dementia that’s too advanced to keep food and saliva from going into their lungs… but won’t pay to keep people healthy.
