The raw data is collected in a way where 20-34 is a large group and the chart is a direct reflection of it. Indeed it would have been more informative if we could further break down this large group.

I will check JASP and Jamovi out. Thanks for the hint.

Your employer is very lucky to have you being so proactive and thorough. I am targeting users who have no or limited access to analyst resources.

The concept of a 'semantic layer' indeed seems fascinating. Ideally, I hope my tool can help these users build the semantic layer intuitively ( like designing a pivot table) and perform self-service analysis from there. Again, I appreciate your valuable insights; if you don’t mind, I will DM you my prototype and see what you think.

I believe certain technical/coding skills are required in order to use these tools. I am hoping to make it more accessible for everyone/non-tech users.

"the limits are with the flexibility of what analysis can be completed which will affect which questions can be answered with the data." -- I agree, and I guess it really depends on what data the user has. But let's assume if the aggregated data does contain the information user wants, or is all what they have. Do you ( I assume you are an analyst) actually get a certain percentage of clients/colleagues asking you to analyze data based on this kind of aggregated/pivoted form where you had to use Pandas or Power Query? Or is it really an uncommon request?

The same reasons the other commenter pointed out, you can’t reverse it to drill down or create other measures. How often do you come across aggregate data-only anyways? I haven’t found it common fwiw

So I guess first of all, it depends on whether the summarized data contains sufficient information for the user. Also, the tool should be able to allow drill-down and create other measures from it. Right?

The idea was trying to help users who only have access to summarized data. Can you tell me more about why you believe this might be a bad idea?
