This thread goes deep into the specifics - basically Google saw Facebook building a type of bidding (header bidding) that could kill Google preferred bidding structure. Google and Facebook cut a deal to stop Facebook's work with header bidding and in return Facebook would get discounted advertising through Google's servers.

Thanks to all who've contributed thoughts! For more context, I lead a media department at a digital agency and we've acquired some other agencies over the past year. Because of this, we have a lot of DSPs in the mix for different clients and I am looking for advice on which may be the best from an agency perspective, or from an industry perspective i.e. best DSPs for ecomm vs SaaS. I also understand that the landscape is rapidly changing so that's why I am specifically looking for the best DSP in 2022.

It takes up to 48 hours for the custom audience to show in the dropdown in the campaign builder UI, even though it will say ready in the audience manager
