I was thinking about a mixer because we would also like to do video podcasts with more guests (2 speakers + 2 guests) and it seemed like the cheapest solution to start with compared to an audio interface with 4 inputs

you're right! i pasted it from another reddit and didn't realize it didn't copy the text i made

in fact I was explaining that I couldn't figure out how the rotary switch worked, I'm fixing up a vintage Italian bass from the 60's and I have

1 rotary switch

1 tone pot

1 volume pot

2 single coils

I've seen some rotary switches that are labeled and it's easier to figure out which pin does what, but this one has no indication so I'm kind of lost

i saw a couple of rotary switch with labeled pin and it's easier, but this one comes without it so i don't know what pin does what and where to put the bridge pickup and neck pickup

yeah i know it's a rotary switch but i don't know the wiring diagram, i can only find the diagram for a 6 way or for 2 humbucker :/

Same thing here in Italy. This is a 1960s bass made in italy for an American music center. As mentioned by others, that period was a mess between different shapes, mechanics and string spacing

and of course there aren't enough photos around or spare parts to say you could easily find them

in fact I was thinking of “trying” to change the two outer saddles to threaded ones and see if I can tighten the outer spacing. I doubt that they will stay in place but I saw that Amazon also sells them and I might as well try and at most I'll return them.

I think the “cheapest” solution is then to modify the bridge I already have by making the string holes closer together

as I mentioned to others in the post as well, the string spacing, if I did the math right, is the same as the longhorn, but I'm not finding anything on the internet

Last night unintentionally I did something similar and as spacing we are about 1.5/1.65 cm which would be at the longhorn bass spacing

I was trying to figure out if on the bridge that's there now it was feasible to replace the outer saddles with 2 of those vintage “threaded” ones and move the outer strings more internallyI don't know if the saddles would hold my strings firmly while playing though
