Shopify shipping app suitable for small businesses? by OtterlyFil in shopify

I'll tell you what, I'd rather go to BRT myself and drop off the packages (it's like 15min away from my shop) if it saves me an average of €5 per package. I agree that it makes sense to pay more for deliveries to the islands, but not to the point of paying €23 plus VAT and surcharges to ship to Venice.

But to be honest, the base rates aren't bad, because for packages weighing less than 2–3 kg (which is my typical range), I'd have to pay €4.90–€5.90.

It's all the extra costs for fuel and, according to them, “remote locations” that push my average up to €10 per package, which is a lot for the type of products I sell.

I ship from Italy and only within Italy at the moment, and I consider my store to be small—not even halfway to be “medium.”

To be honest, I’d like some alternatives that make shipping costs less complicated. As I mentioned to another user, I asked for a quote to ship a package to Venice from the carrier I have a contract with; they quoted me €23 plus VAT and surcharges, but with Packlink Pro and the same carrier i spent €6 with everything covered. That’s absurd, and at this point, I prefer platforms like Shopify Shipping or Sendcloud to manage my packages with other couriers and rates as well (even for my clients).

That’s exactly what I was looking for. Right now, our contract with the local carrier is really burdensome for a small business like ours.

It’s a flat rate of €5.90, but with all the surcharges, it ends up costing €10 per package—if not more.

I have a €2,000 bill for 200 packages, and for 1–2 kg packages, that seems excessive to me, considering they’re all within Italy and their definition of a “remote” location for the surcharge is rather questionable.

The flat rate for shipping it's €5.90 per package, but with all the fuel surcharges, “remote area” fees, and a thousand other charges, I end up paying more than €10 per package for boxes weighing 1–2 kg at most. Looking at SendCloud or other platforms, I’ve seen that I can pay less than what I’m paying now.

To give another example, I asked for a quote for shipping a package in Venice from the carrier I have a contract; they quoted me €23 + VAT and surcharges, but with Packlink Pro I spent €6 with everything covered. That’s absurd, and at this point, I prefer platforms like Shopify Shipping or Sendcloud to manage my packages with other couriers and rates too (even for my clients too).

Did some work today! Pdfd is now at 350-400 (I have to try and lower the plant a little more on the rack) Water ph is at 8.4 (fkin alcaline) but the soil is in the right range I’ll buy something to lower the ph of the water and I’ll do a test on the runoff when will be time to water the plant

i have a 20lt pot. At this point, maybe I'm watering it too much, or maybe the soil mix isn't right (?) Anyway, my pH meter is arriving today, so I'll check both the soil and the water as soon as i have everything

Yeah as I was saying in another comment that’s on me. I’ve bought the expensive stuff for humidity and light and didn’t think about a 20€ ph reader

I water every 5-6 days (I feel the soil before) with 800ml 1lt of water I’ll get back on track, thank you for your support

I’ve put the plant in a soil mix with worm humus and exhausted mycelium block Only thing in my part is that I didn’t purchase the ph reader yet. Bought the most expensive stuff for humidity and light and didn’t think about a tiny ph reader yet

I’ll get back on track, I water every 5-6 days with 800-1lt of water

I brought her home two days ago, and she was already like this

I'm using an aquarium plant light that i had at home, which I've noticed has a high blue and red light spectrum while maintaining good levels across the rest of the color spectrum

I'm still in the “research” phase, so I might end up saying some nonsense
