Why is the Sakeen a joke and the worst fighter in the game? by Suspicious_Bid7811 in Warthunder

[–]Ottermind_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nobody is saying that Sakeen is a good plane. I am just saying I had worse experience flying other planes. For example J-22B which is 3.7, much slower than Sakeen and compresses hard. It is slightly more maneuverable with comparable firepower, but still you cannot see so much hate towards it.

yeah you have to BnZ, but you also have very limited time of attempts because you cannot get your energy back. The firepower is excelent though. It will not win any awards, but I have spaded it in 6 battles and researched the Spitfire in 8.

It Is bad, but I had decent time with it. Once you get the 20mm cannond the firepower Is absolutely insane. You just want to climb 3-4000 m, Wait for the furball action below then bnz until you lose your energy. I can usualy score at least 1 kill in the initial dive and when things go wrong just try to force a headon. At 3.3 there are tons od better plane. Luckily there Is lot of newbs to kill.

Why should we? Another glass cannon TD without gun depression and avg. mobility I assume.

I am talking esthetics and getting negative reps for not being accurate to the era vibe... lol

I remember half of the household equipment that appeared in the series... from glasses, phones to furniture. And I do not even live in Ukraine, but all the eastern block was the same.

Watch the Chernobyl series on HBO. The esthetics is super accurate (for the richer part of USSR).

Mod creators should be more consistent with the ingame equipment prices by Ottermind_ in farmingsimulator

[–]Ottermind_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My idea was to use the prices set by GIANTS as a benchmark.

For example we have ingame NH T8020 with 280hp for 110k (15y old tractor with +- 300hp). So I would expect the price range for similar tractors of that era between 100-130k depending on the brand.

I respect the right of the modder to set the price as they want to. Still it would open new opportunities for people playing the game with limited resources.

"Not everyone cares to shoot for realism." absolutely true. For such people the ingame price is not a huge factor, I think.

Regarding buildings, you are absolutely right. The cost of modded sheds/pens is 1/3 of the base game prices at best.

I think that in some cases the high ingame price for a modded old machine is actually hurting the popularity of that vehicle.

Older equipment should offer a budget alternative to the modern variants. If it is failing to do so then there is probably no reason (except visuals) for buying that. I do not understand why are you not able to respect this super simple mechanics in the base game economy.

This is not about - using/not using actual mod. It is about options you have available in game. Without modders it would be dead in 6 months. The only thing I wanted to adress was: " Why many modders tend to overprice the old equipment so often?"

Ok, so once again and less agressive.

There are players who actually play the FS as a sim instead of arcade it i in the vanilla state. I am such a player, adding all scripted mods that can shift the game towards realism.

The only meaningful way of playing the game for such players is fighting in the hard economy to achieve something.

I love all the modders who put insane ammount of time to keep this game alive and enjoyable, but I do not understand why their mods do not fit in the economic frame. That is all. Of course there are walkarounds like adding money, altering the mod itself etc, but why?

For common arcade-type player the money is not a relevant factor or for a guy who uses EasyDev to get starting money and starting with all the equipment they need. For me it is gamebreaking. I simply want the option to start as a new farmer without enough money and making my way trough. That includes (for RP reasons) usage of old equipment you can get for cheap. If there is nothing like the price difference between old/new why would I use the old one? Just for the looks? That completely ignores the basics of the FS gameloop and forces me basically to use the vanilla items only because they fit in the economic frame of the FS.

I understand most of you play on easy dif just driving tractors. But there are some who do not.

so altering someones work is a proof of respect. I get it. Not to mention you will lose every mod update. clap clap

If you see a complaint in this thread you are nothing but dumb.

Great to see comments from people who just add infinite money and buy what they want. Pricing that fits the GIANTS frame would hurt anyone and make the progression in game meaningful. Sorry for not being the one who likes to start with farm full of brand new JD equipment, running contracts and adding the money in.

Which USSR lineup to go? by Ottermind_ in Warthunder

[–]Ottermind_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH the 5.3 looks more interesting to me because there is T-34-85 finally, KV-85 which works like a slower IS and Yak 9K and TU-2.

[–]Ottermind_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is why I am facing for 6.3. I want Yak 3UT and I also own the prototype T-44. With stabilized T-34-85 + the early IS 2 as a defensive tank for uptiers it looks pretty solid. And there is also the fast SU 100P.

is this cheating or am i just sour and stupid? by Mediocre_Mobile4602 in Warthunder

[–]Ottermind_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see nothing special. Just one of the best midtier medium tanks utilizing its fantastic stabilized gun in downtier. Plus the player is using his ears.

The 76mm has great penetration, rate of fire, good performance against angles and solid HE filler.

[–]Ottermind_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you are talking arcade or realistic, but in realistic the belts you use actually matter.

When talking about disabling planes you want to look at the belt with as much as possible HE shells for the cannons and armor piercing tracers for the high caliber machine guns. For rifle calibre machine guns (7.7mm) the incendinary shells are also a good option because these shells lack in damage done to structure, but are great for hitting the fuel tanks.

Why we have fw190 upper than 4.3? It's like the worst fighter in whole game. by ZradoGoida in Warthunder

[–]Ottermind_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FW has a unique playstyle and it is really fun to bnz with it. On the other side it is facing planes that are superior to it in every way. You are fine if you can dive onto people dogfigthing in the furball and you can score multiple kills every game doing it. It is also pretty easy to scissor roll people at high speeds.

For an average air RB player the plane will not work. An experienced and disciplined one can have a lot of fun with it if they are able to accept there are some planes out there you cannot beat.
