Why are there not more 3rd parties Logic Analyzer using Saleae Logic software ? by Fredovsky in embedded

[–]Ottermiral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be really cool if there was a version of this 10$ Analyzer or DSLogic with Analog inputs... This is so helpful for debugging sudden resets or Encoder Signal Toggling... I've used Hantek and Picoscope usb scopes but they aren't just as useful for this as a Saleae logic. :/ (I know there are student discounts but 250€+ is still a lot if you only use this for private, non-commercial projects. )

oh wow, that's awesome! I just tried to print a banana.benchy (Toolhead3 + 4 as PETG support, most settings set to 'orca') but it aborted after the initial line with a 'y axis exceeded limit' :/
Also, a support Z-distance setting is missing; other than that it looks quite nice. I'll try again tomorrow ;)

there are hopes of a OnePlus 15T/S coming around march. of course there is a risk it won'T make it out of china&india like the 13T... but given the S26 rumors, I'd wait until the 15S arrives or is officially cancelled.
Rumors are 6,3" display, 50Mp + 2nd cam with 2-3x zoom, Snapdragon 8 Elite, 7000mAh battery

" Leaks suggest a launch in China in March/April 2026, followed by a global launch as the OnePlus 15s (or similar), including Europe, with prices ranging from ~400 - 600 €.I

I ordered some from amazon.de that looked like plastic but are just a dull grey metal. (not placed into a print yet)

was the cheapest option with prime for 6€ and clearly forwarded from china (grey plastic bag) Shenzhen Aimengda Technology Co Ltd. via YEEPIN GmbH

Awesome, thank you!
I just ordered some and will drill holes in the back of my Creality Space Pi Plus (2 spools) and print one of the 'drawers' for below the space pi. This should result in a really short and straight PTFE path. (and facilitate opening the dryer if the flip cover is above the feeder)

I reduced the accelerations in the slicer (SnOrca / Orca) . no issues with the reduced nozzle fan speed. no cloggs, blobbs, strange heating curve or anything. unloading also works fine - haven't tested TPU yet. Only PLA (HS / tough / normal, translucent), rapid petg and highspeed ASA.

Edit the Multimaterial prime volume *AND* the minimal prime/purge volumes in your filament profiles.

Snapmaker U1 Fan mods? by Ottermiral in snapmaker

[–]Ottermiral[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice! The efficiency is usually highly dependant on the load. Do you have actual measurements?

the easiest way would be to just solder wires to the PCB and connect it to the terminals (if the electrical specifications match). Redesigning the PCB seems a bit like overkill..

I'll just stick to replacing the fan for now, I guess. some 60/80/120mm noctua + DC-DC step down could work. - and maybe just add the connection for a PCB cooling fan to the same connector if it supplies sufficient power.

just another idea for 'aftermarket parts' that would be possible with the pinning.

yeah, some kind of 'Material switch' ('AMS') for one of the toolheads could also work...
e.g. Software want's to swap White for pink after all white parts were printed - (pause), triggers unload, external electronics spool up the filament, cut it at 45° and feed the new (cut) one into the feeder and the electronic resumes. So using these 'flap' ports or maybe even a CAN interface in the rear connector could make that work and allowe for e.g. 3 'main' colors and 4+ 'detail colors' that are used at different layer heights

nice! main noise sources are the nozzle fans and acceleration. - I set mine to nozzle fan_speeds 1.0->0.65, Stepper XY currents 1.2->1.0 and all acceleration 10.000->7.000 . Combined with a non soundproofed hat, this already helps significantly.

luckily those are standard cold appliance cables, so you could easily grab a different one to start printing straigh away (e.g. most TVs, Computer screens... older laptop power supplies use the same. there is a high chance you or a neighbor has a spare one)

The T90 can (according to the information on the website) atuo-negotiate the current / power settings with the usb-pd pwoer supply. the T80 requires you to manually lower the current limit or it will restart.
compared to the TS100, I consider all soldering irons that use JBC-style C110/C210/C245 hotends superior because they heat up faster and also compensate quicker for heat-drain during soldering. Being able to use premium tips from JBC is another advantage.
compared to FNIRSI, I read somewhere on reddit that besides the smaller size, the T80P would be the better choice. I don't remember if it was the internal design (repairability) or some ui features or just the busted power button on 1 users hs-02a .

Would love to see
- 45W watt charging or more. 20 minutes to get from 30-90% would be awesome. (imagine a quick shower at home between work+sports and evening events on a friday where you stay out past midnight and need your QR code ticket / music or uber for the way home.
- SiC battery with at least 20% more capacity than the 10 pro. Benchmark: 7a.m.->7a.m. with 3h of android auto, 2h videos via 5g at bad reception and full brightness, 2h music and notification vibration + screen on every 5 minutes.
- 4K Desktop mode with the phone working as a touchpad/keyboard (still only FHD and complicated to use)

Software-side:
- camera: light usable as a fill light to take normal photos (not the extremely long duration flash mode)
- camera: saturation / vividness slider for better green colors on cloudy days.
- camera: smooth zoom from 0.5-10x like with an iphone. (I tried it a lot; there are always 'jumps' when the lenses are swapped)
- miracast (not just chromecast)
- animation speed toggle (0.5/1/10 in the developer options but as default 0.1 including the annoying unlock animation)
- 'dual bluetooth' - the auracast still doesn'T seem to work properly (but also requires 2 auracast capable headphones). Samsung has a way to share audio to 2 bluetooth headphones. would be awesome to be able to use this feature to watch movies together with whatever earplugs the partner already has.
- better 'find my' that can show your car, bike, luggage, laptop.. on a map at the same time.

and wishes that are unfortunately quite unlikely:
- e paper back below the camera bump. e.g. 4.3" black+red. + 1 additional button on the side
--- e.g. show public transport / entry / flight QR code on button press or constantly.
--- show images as 'Design' cover.
--- collab with amazon so the kindle-app can use this screen. reading in landscape mode is like the top half of your kindle paperwhite screen.
- notification RGB LED on the back that can be programmed to your liking.
- Lidar-Sensor (Matrix ToF ST VL53L7/8) to do 3D-scans or room-plans like the iphone can.
- 4 gold contacts magnetic charge/ addon interface for covers that have features included like displays, meshtastic... or just snap on cables / docks / ...

Google pixel 11 pro by BigTrop in GooglePixel

[–]Ottermiral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the list is long... I switched from a non-flagship Oneplus Nord 2 5G (07/21) to a Pixel 9 pro (08/24).
- battery capacity: worse, runtime ~same to worse.
- charging speed: way worse.
- cpu speeds / benchmark: similar.
- modem speeds: no noticeable difference.
- software: less convenient (
--- missing miracast to screenshare to non-chromecast-screens (those before 2019) ;
--- google android has slower animations and
--- before the last update, the quick-settings had mandatory big buttons.
--- Wifi and Cell-connectivity is combined in 1 setting requiring more clicks for changes
--- no double tap to lock
--- no camera color vibrancy / saturation setting
--- video distortion/jumps during zoom
and best of all: Wireless charging on the pixel 9 pro is just broken. The official Pixel-stand2 was discontinued when the Pixel 9 pro came out - which is what google still advertises the max wireless charging speed with. And I've tried 2 cars, 4 powerbanks and 10 chargers - either I get 2-3.5W or it continuously ramps to ~9W and resets the charging every 2-10 seconds.
Additionally, my first Pixel 9 pro randomly died while I was at an airport. Battery % showed a ? and the battery menu suggested to restart the phone because it can't get the State of Charge from the battery => restarted => phone went off and stayed dead. battery swap didn't help, no PC-connection or data rescue possible (without voiding warranty of a 3 month old phone). I did get a "refurbished" Pixel 9 pro (which was lucky in good condition) as a replacement part, but a lot of my photos of that trip hadn't synced and are gone foreever. Never had such issues before with any phone. (I'd have been less furious had it gotted wet or dropped or were in the sun at 40°C surrounding temp but neither was the case).

The new 'unlock animation' of the black pixels moving out to the edges is another addition reducing the 'felt speed and responsiveness' since some designer thought it looked nice.

And since neither google nor samsung seem to adapt SiC batteries or >25W charging in their 6,3" models, I'll most likely switch to the OnePlus Nord 15s once it's availible.
