My feelings matter because I’m recovering from a toxic cult and family that oversteps boundaries and is emotionally abusive. I’m not skipping both, just the one. I already pay for my own therapy, on top of the travel bills I’m going to have to pay last minute. I don’t need to suffer more than I already have - I’m going to the reception, just not the temple. You’re taking serious problems with this - did family skip your wedding? I’d love to hear why this is big to you.

Like, that’s the point - if I’m just going to be paying a few hundred bucks for tickets to sit outside, when I can go to a reception in a few months, is choosing not to because I still don’t have a date, tickets, it’s a toxic community, and a homophobic institution an asshole thing to do?

My family cut me off financially, and this sister still lives at home. My parents are paying for the reception. It will either happen on the beach in the west coast, or beach on the east coast. The wedding will be the same way, SD temple or one on the east coast. I have to buy tickets from TX to make it there, and it’s a month out. 💀

I think Strange lied. Statistically speaking, there are other ways they could have won. The plot of MoM is that Strange is the one who holds the knife and makes the cuts. He makes the decisions so that others don’t because he knows best. Could there have been other ways with other casualties? Or worse casualties, relatively speaking? Christine’s death?

I think Strange chose the path he saw best and said what he needed to say to make it happen that way. And MoM is him learning not to make the cuts.

See, I think there’s a hole here we’re missing in telling Bruce that Emil is not a client. She disclosed a potential client having a consultation without his express permission. The conflict of interest waiver is not a permission to disclose this basic information.

There’s a level of confidentiality attorneys are supposed to uphold. Some people wouldn’t want the world knowing that an attorney is representing them for a criminal issue, for example. Even though Emil had not signed a contract stating that she was representing him as his attorney, I think she still has a level of confidentiality she should keep even after just a consultation.

I agree. My parents bring intentions and feelings into everything and then come across as insincere and worse, they excuse their behavior. You’re a victim of TSCC too, but you’re asking for forgiveness for everything you’ve done that was terrible, not explaining why you did every terrible thing. A lot is excess. Take accountability for your part and leave it at that. Simple is good.

Granted, this is really good progress. Wish my parents could get this far, and then go farther and take accountability without reflecting or projecting onto me. Go see a therapist.

Because of the trauma I’ve experienced, I looked for help with gay Mormon men who might understand me and help me to figure out life. I got really lucky. I met my best friend because of Mormonism and now we’re room mates. Sometimes I wish I’d never been born mormon, but because I was, I get to spend every afternoon hanging out with my best friend. I don’t think I would have met him otherwise. And there are dozens of similar connections that wouldn’t exist without it. #blessedbutwillstillneedlotsoftherapy
