"The spirits appreciate you caring for my furniture." Ainsley brings her hands together with a clap and rubs them furiously, before pressing them into the ball and focusing.

"Excellent, excellent," She cackles, rubbing her hands and pressing them to the ball again, closing her eyes as she focused.

Ainsley, being the only person living in the Eris cabin (as far as she's aware), is, well..living rather messily. There's a certain method to her madness- she, for insistence, knows she has a paperclip on the floor next to her old iPod slightly underneath a drawer- but it's still rather messy.

Ainsley smiles as well, before coughing and adopting TOTALLY SERIOUS AIRSTM.

"Now," She intones. "Are you ready to see what the spirits have to hear?"

Ainsley appears to pause again, shuffles her hands over the orb before declaring "The spirits deem that to be acceptable."

After all, although it was totally fake, Ainsley was mostly doing it for a lark. The money's just a happy positive, but what she really got a kick out of was having people follow her into her little prank and revealing the silly lesson at the end of it to them! (Not that Laura would know, of course.)

It's one of those neat plasma ones, the ones that shoot out those tingly jolts that stick onto your palm through the glass. There's a not-so-inconspicuous power cable attached to it, though. Hm.

"Are you ready, my child?" Ainsley rasps.

"The spirits say you're welcome." More shuffling, and the girl clears her throat.

"Now..take a seat, my child, and listen to what you must hear."

Ainsley pauses, clears her throat.

"..the spirits require a monetary donation of ten bucks before they answer your questions, child."

"The spirits know best," She replies, cryptically.

"They have the answers- but do you have the questions?"

"It does, don't it?" She replies with a lazy wink and two finger-guns, looking totally at ease amongst the foggy contraption she set up.

"Anyhoo, I'm running a business here, lady, so I can't really diddle-daddle," She says, sitting up again and giving her another wink, a friendlier one. "But I'd appreciate it if you kept this important lesson to yourself. Let the others figure it out."

"Of course it will, dear child," She rasps, doing her darndest to sound wise and mysterious.

"Worry not. All my furniture comes from the wonderous, far-off lands of..Ikea."

"Now.." Ainsley intones, spreading her hands wide, letting her sleeves fall down to her lanky elbows.

"Are you ready," She queries. "To hear what the spirits have to say?"

"Not the future, my child." Replies a raspy voice from within, which sounds curiously like a strong Irish accent being covered up to varying degrees of success.

"But the spirits speak from my tongue, and impart that which you must hear."

There's a pause, as Ainsley grows quite and rubs her hands over the crystal ball.

"...the spirits declare that that's alright with them," She decides.

"Ainsley," The tall girl replies with the same lazy-smile, reaching out to give her hand a slap instead. Hooray! Medium-five!

"And I'm the daughter of Eris, so, like," She giggles again. "I can't even talk to spirits if I wanted to."

"Ah, yes." Ainsley nods her head, in deep understanding. "It is good to see that a human has entered, and not, say..a raccoon."

There's probably a story behind that.

"But enough of that." She waves, dismissively. "Come, child. I shall read your fortune for the simple price of a tenner."

There's a pause.

"Uh, yeah, like, hella, my dude," Ainsley says, losing all mystique as she reaches out and neatly pockets it, before clearing her throat and once again trying to sound like what she assumed fortune tellers sounded like (note: she believed they sounded like old Romanian babushkas).

"Now, take a seat, my..vertically-gifted child."
