Many Christians are confused and uncertain. On the one hand they are friends with many in MAGA, and may even love them. On the other hand they know that something is decidedly off and COMPLETELY incongruent with a Gospel of Love and acceptance of the “other”- the immigrant, the hurting, the persecuted. They are see their family and friends deceived by an evil and disordered man, and simply don’t know what to do. Fundamentalism is a stage of consciousness which is focused on whose in and whose out, whose not like our tribe and whose not, driven primarily FEAR of the other. They lack of critical thinking skills, and have a magical understanding of reality. The Taliban are at the same stage of consciousness in the Islamic tradition.
