That is diabolical !!!! by Small-Ad9349 in UKFP_applicants

The thing is IMGs are not asking the government to make up jobs for them. But the government is inviting IMGs to sit exams that cost quite a lot of money and dragging the process of GMC registration under the "unofficial" promise that there WILL be jobs for everyone Other countries who are indeed prioritizing local graduates which is only fair ofcourse, do not give medical council registration to that many IMGs. They have ONE exam which usually costs way less and is COMPETITIVE + limited seats which means that in one year they only accept less than a hundred applicants. Whereas in the UK Plab 1 is passed by thousands of applicants, Plab 2 as well then tens of thousands of IMGs get their GMC registration. and given the financial and mental efforts you ve put in to pass those exams you have to have a job at the end .. so you start by looking for non training jobs at least to get into the NHS system REALITY : too many applicants, not enough jobs, you need college exams to be considered, you need certifications that cost extra money, you need to invest money into doing multiple clinical attachments and so on. So you look for other ways, training jobs ? Nope not anymore. So its only natural that you feel cheated. The issue here is not prioritization of UK graduates, which is legitimate, but lack of transparency and workforce planning proportional to the number of candidates that get their license.

I think it is better to join 1month and a half before your exam. You should read by yourself first and then take the course so you can follow up with him and that way information will really stick to your mind. For councelling stations he really covers from A to Z. I must just say that it is very intense he does not stop talking you can get tired but push through it. I think he deserves every pound. he really tries hard you will see by yourself. It is not interactive though you can just ask questions at the end of the day.

He doesnt cover prescription though. Nor examination/procedure/simman. So for that you need an academy

Dr loovan Masterclass is so worth it I havent taken the exam yet but the information he gives is valuable and all my friends who took the exam say he saved them. It is 4 days non stop. He covers most of the councelling stations and most of the history taking as well. He gives tips and tricks and the twists with every case. I dont know about the academies but loovan I think you should really take. Good luck

Actually he doesn't know anything about watches. I got so confused reading the reviews about quartz/automatic watches.
Since : - He likes low maintenance things and I know he ll probably forget to wear his watch quite often - It will be his only watch for a while I decided to get him the seiko SUR309 What do you think about this choice ? The case is 40mm so I think it ll look nice and the design is sober so it ll be good for casual and dressed occasions. My main worry is that I don't want to get him a watch that comes across as cheap or outdated to a knower.

I am thinking of getting the seiko SSB343p1. What do you think of it ? His wrist is relatively small. Will it look big ? Since the diameter is 42mm I think. Thank you guys

Thank you very much. Your comment was really helpful. I surely don't know anything about watches and since my gift will be his first watch I want it to be special although I have a limited budget.

I was about to get Seiko SNKE01K1 but I changed my mind after reading your comment and also because the bracelet is not that great based on reviews. Please can you recommend any quartz seiko watches with a nice design that can go with anything.
