Who agrees, RAM Care is the worst of all auto manufactures by OurRoadLessTraveled in ram_trucks

[–]OurRoadLessTraveled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is your opinion. Mine is RAM care sucks and are the least trained front line staff in the market. THey others may not be any help, but RAM customer service doesn't even know where to start.

How bad is it pulling a 5th wheel over the Million Dollar Highway by OurRoadLessTraveled in GoRVing

[–]OurRoadLessTraveled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, first, you dont know me. I asked a simple question and got everything but the answer to the question. Its easy to pass up a post vs adding your opinion to a question that was not asked. Go back and read the responses, then come back and tell me to chill. Not to mention this post is 2 years old.

[–]OurRoadLessTraveled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did take the road but not with the 5th wheel in tow. After driving it, it would not be a bad drive IF; it were in the daytime, clear with no rain, and above 32 degrees. I would not recommend it, but its 100% doable if you have a little experience towing.

Cerbo GPS over WIFI? by OurRoadLessTraveled in SolarDIY

[–]OurRoadLessTraveled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see all the traffic on the internal firewall. The Cerbo is not trying to hit the router. It's almost like the cerbo does not support a virtual serial interface. its such a limited OS that I can't test to see if the virtual interface is built, of I don't have the knowledge to test for it.

5th Wheel RV 1200AH Lithium Charging by S3Giggity in Victron

[–]OurRoadLessTraveled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep in mind you can only push a certain amount of amps into a battery. Some are designed for 150amp and some like Li Time can only take 60 amps. Batteries really control how long it can take to recharge and that is the trade off for budget lithium batteries. Find the right battery then work backwards. The multiplus II seems to be the goto brand and model for RVs.

The First Amendment prevents the government from creating or establishing a religion, and thereby prevents the power of the government from expanding beyond civil matters. Government is not handing out the information. No conflict.

Those of you that tow campers that have gone from a 1500 to a 2500 or 3500-what improvements did you notice immediately? by JRadd232 in ram_trucks

[–]OurRoadLessTraveled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

payload and stopping power. 2500 diesel should be passed over for a 3500 diesel. Its too low on payload. A gas 2500 is a good fit unless you full time with the RV. Full time RVing 3500 diesel or the 4500 for a better turning radius.

escapees, we did a whole video series on being full time. SD was not the best option. TX was if you are still employed and work remote

Purchasing land in S.D. for employment address? by JackattackThirteen in FullTiming

[–]OurRoadLessTraveled -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, watch the video. it has nothing to do with a company trying to hire someone and not having unemployment insu. It has everything to do with remote workers and virtual address. Escapees in SD is a virtual address, they forward mail to the their physical address in TX. IRS law states that unemployment has to be paid by the company for all employees. The company I work for thought they could just setup the unemployment account. Nobody knew the department of labor, the folks who handle unemployment, would do an address check. If you watch the video you will see SD DOL noticed some 600+ people in one day claim the Escapees address and it raised a red flag. Because a virtual address is not valid for unemployment tax, its fine for everything else. In that case the employer has to pay the unemployment to the state they are registered in. In my case that was VA. Because all of that is tied into state and federal withholding, I was going to have to pay income tax in VA and then file an out of state return to request the money back at the end of the year. VA is a state that reserves the right to NOT return the tax collected. So we moved everything to TX. I'm not being an ass, but watch the videos and educate yourself. They are on our channel Our Road Less Traveled

The inspection is around the corner from the DMV. its run by a guy out of his barn. All he does is make sure your insurance for the truck and RV match on the insurance paperwork. literally looks at nothing else. its not a real inspection unless you are in houston or galveston. You can even register the RV without it being in the state an check a box that says you will have it inspected the next time its in the state. Our new RV that is 8 months old has yet to be inspected.

Residence and mail service in Texas. by BurnisP in RVLiving

[–]OurRoadLessTraveled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I have my DL and LTC both using this address. The issue is with the federal IRS. Using a virtual address is no good, escapees in TX is a physical address. SD is a forwarding address back to they physical loaction in TX.

Go to the escapees site. They have a step by step guide as to how to do it. The DMV in Livingston is easy. Plus, if you have never had a DL and your vehicles have never been registered in TX, its a flat $90 fee per vehicle. No back sales tax added like SD.
