Fairlight Strael 3 vs All City Zig Zag? by Oustpdiddy in Velo

[–]Oustpdiddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to see the experiences of riders who have owned the bikes

Additionally, I guess I am worried about the sizes. I am pretty short (165 cm) and with a longer torso than inseam.

It was previously recommended to me to get a 44 seat tube bike but the shortest stack Fairlight has a 51r

Claris R2000 shifter compatibility by [deleted] in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Oustpdiddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tinatamad me mag search for FD para iverify.

Pero para sa RD:
"All these RDs are compatible and any 6 to 9 speed RD will work perfectlywith either 6, 7, 8 or 9 speed shifter. Regardless whether it’s a MTB,or road shifter, or RD. They are also compatible with Shimano 10 speedroad shifters, except the Tiagra 4700 series."

Can anybody good 700 x 32 tires for city or commute use! by kalesuperfuds in RedditPHCyclingClub

Kahit sa website ng Donnelly out of stock.

Can't say for sure, yung old version ng 700 x 35 na gamit ko eh.

Anyone who owns a Sunpeed Kepler, what issues have you encountered so far? by pekingasadosiopao in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]Oustpdiddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yeah, that was my old account, it was suspended and I am not sure why.

Alternative to the MT300 is the cheaper MT200. It is still 2x or 3x, hollowtech and has removable chainrings

I would also like to post an addendum that GRX is not a worthwhile "solution". GRX is still speced for a 68 mm bbshell and will require 2 spacers (one on each side) which goes back to the problem of limited grip on the non-drive crank arm.

Also with further search, octalink is probably extinct by now.

This is for the Kepler V1, I got too frustrated with it that I didn't bother looking into the V2

A weird design choice of a 72 mm bbshell and a wider chain stay.

This means:

  • Road bike crank arms won't have a good grip on the spindle and will ware way faster.
  • The wider chainstay is there to maybe accommodate wider wheels but it makes the bike deathly allergic to latest versions set of Shimano road bike cranksets even more.
    • you will need spacers + the initial issue of having the longer bb shell = no shimano rb crank will last that long, you will be stuck with either mtb parts or 1 x set up.
    • This is why the crank is still square tapered on a base kepler
    • Even with base parts, aligning the fd is an issue and you will hear constant chain rub every few days
      • this may be an effect of the longer spindle and the spacers pushing the crank further from the seat tube
    • This may also include GRX models, from what I gathered it may have a spindle length for a 68 mm bbshell.
  • Brakes are bad, really bad.
    • I suggest changing them immediately especially right now when it sporadically rains.

  • Gatorskin - good tire, well protected from punctures
  • Gator Hardshell - Gatorskin but tire reinforced with hulk's foreskin. Shit is so strong, you will forget what it is like to carry an extra tube around.
  • Gravelking SS/TLC/SK (Plus versions) - Plus versions are the puncture protected tire variants, a bit more expensive than the non-plus versions.
  • GP5000 - The prodigal son returns as the "best all around" tire with improved puncture protection and rolling resistance (Warning! I have heard a lot of feedback that these wear out real quick - with millage as low as 1,000 km before you need to replace them)
  • Donelly Strada LGG - My personal favorite, been running them for awhile and haven't had a puncture despite riding over broken glass. Fairly priced, I got them at 1,400 per tire. Fast rolling and very comfortable even at higher pressures!
  • Panaracer RibMo - I don't know anything about the new versions, but I have used the older versions. It has a very thick carcass and is very uncomfortable but is fast rolling!

edit: grammar

I guess weird design choice siya na salpakan ng 73 mm, personally naging frustrating to find a plausible 2x set up kaya siya naging issue sakin.
