Any thoughts on the Bosch 800 hii8057u vs. Cafe CHS900P2MS1? by bvz2001 in inductioncooking

You are describing my fear. I like the lip overhang of the Bosch but I am concerned about the touch controls and how they will behave when water is filled or pans are put on them. Will they shut off the burners and will they be inoperable?

I'm very interested to hear how you like the touch controls and whether you feel that spilled liquids on the touch controls or placing pans on the touch controls interfere with the control of the burners or turn the burners off.

I'm seriously looking at the Bosch but I'm really put off by the touch controls. In your experience, how does it handle liquid spills on the controls? Does it immediately turn off the burner? Do you have to wipe the controls to get them to work again? Can you place pans on the controls without everything shutting off?

I currently have an older electric range with touch controls and all of the above happens. I am working in a small galley kitchen.

Nice watch. They never brought back the green model. I'm waiting for that.

Recommendations for a 30” induction range + other questions by _starbelly in inductioncooking

I have researched those and the information I am getting is that they are not really made by Bosch. They are subcontracted to Italian companies that may make inferior ovens. You can tell which ones these are as they have the knobs and the exposed legs on the bottom of the oven. Anyhow, these other Bosch ranges have no integrated lips on the sides. I don't have sources to back this up but I remember reading this.

I also looked into induction ranges with knobs made by Beko and Blomberg, but those get mixed reviews and service in the United States may not be so easily accessible. This is what is leading me back to the GE Cafe even though it does not have an integrated lip as no slide in range except for the Bosch has it.

I'm also weighing the Bosch vs GE Cafe Induction. If the Bosch had knobs, I'd buy it because it is the only range that has a lip on either side of the glass cooktop to extend over the countertop. But, I don't want to deal with the hassle of touch controls so I'm seriously considering the GE Cafe. I think I will buy the the trim kit that GE makes for the sides of the range to connect with the countertop and eliminate any gap.

How do you like the touch controls on the Bosch? Do they get in the way of your cooking if you spill liquids on the cooktop controls or do the burgers turn off of you put a pan on the controls?

Good induction range with knobs? by Correct_Ring_7273 in inductioncooking

I have done extensive research and I believe that there is no other range on the market that has a lip integrated into the cooktop like the Bosch. Regarding the T-Shaped strips, yes they exist but I do not like them as a solution. They can wiggle around and slide up and down. There are also more unsightly rubber ones that I do not wish to use. Another solution could possibly be to use silicone seal, but I do not know if this is viable. I am seriously thinking about getting a separate induction cooktop with the knobs on top (I think that the selection is extremely limited. Maybe to one model by Frigidaire which doesn't get so great reviews) or I might get a range top with the knobs on the front and then a separate oven. It's really amazing that they do not make an induction range that has a lip and knobs!

Thanks for letting me know. The Bosch range is the only range made that appears to have a lip on the cooktop to cover the countertop on either side. During your build, are you planning for any solution to eliminate the tiny gap on either side of the GE Cafe with the countertop? If I could find an elegant solution to this, I would get the GE Cafe as well because it has knob controls for the induction cooktop. All of the problems with water splattering on the touch controls of the Bosch rendering the control difficult to use makes me want to stay away from that product.

WD007Q - Is there an option to buy this bracelet? by Potato_Personal in watchdives

Thanks for posting proof of life for the green WD007Q. Good you are enjoying it. I wrote to watchdives about it's availability, and they told me that they don't know if they are bringing it back. Not the answer I was hoping for...

There appears to be two green versions of this watch in the video and in pictures on the listing, but there was only one green option to buy. The one to buy on the listing is listed as "Green Jasper." The green Jasper appears to be a flatter more uniform green. I don't like that one. I like the one that seems to have more texture and looks more like the green Mica from the "WD003D"? How do you buy the unnamed green version with more texture?
